Percocet/oxycodone M523 10/325 (Page 4)

Hello all, First off I'm new to posting here and I must admit this is probably a topic that is quite frequent and I have done days searching but can't seem to really find any info on my specific situation. I apologize in advance for the long post but I will introduce myself and situation. I've been on oxycodone 10/325 for a little over a year now from a botched foot surgery and diabetic neuropathy in this same foot. It helps tremendously and seems to be the only relief I can get is from taking these. Whether its first thing in the morning to be able to stand up and get moving or whether it's to let me settle down and drift off to sleep which is something fairly hard to do. I also was recently diagnosed with PTSD from my job and I am currently out of work for this. It is not fun. The oxycodone also seems to just ease my mind as well as my pain and its honestly the only thing I've taken that helps with both. I am under the care of a pain management doctor which I've been seeing since August 2015. My script is 90 for 30 days (3 a day). I try my best to stick to this as it is the dosage I'm required to abide by.. But at times I find myself taking 1-2 more a day than the normal 3 a day I'm supposed to take. Thus, resulting in my script "running out" early. So I turn to other means and each time it's usually something different. Nothing other than oxy but just different milligrams (sometimes 5s) and most of the time it's different manufacturers (sometimes it's pink only oxy no acetaminophen, sometimes yellow Vs and sometimes white IPs). This last time I was given white ones with m523 on one side and 10/325 on the other. I became suspicious right away. After further examining them they also look rather "beat up" almost as if they were in someone's pocket for 2-3 days or drug across the ground. All the writing on them is lined up properly on each one and well centered. They seem very light weight. Almost like a hollow capsule would feel. Very chalky looking although there is a slight glaze on them in the light but nothing like the glaze that mine from the pharmacy have on them. And also you can very easily "chip" the pill with your fingernail and easily rub off the writing with your fingernail as well. And they dissolve into a chalky paste very quickly almost instantly as soon as they hit your tongue. Which leads me to the next point.. Yes, I did take one. I noticed nothing different than normal for the first 20-30 minutes which is usually when the rush hits me. It felt like oxy. It was very short lived. All feeling was gone well within the hour and I was left extremely thirsty with an odd dry taste in my mouth and a dull but worsening pressure headache in the back of my head. Felt kind of odd. Not as I usually feel anyway. Kind of dizzy and couldn't really focus or bring myself to do anything. Was very sleepy actually and I felt as if I may throw up. Anyways, this was my experience in a nutshell. I know a press for this particular pill can be purchased on on the internet for 150 bucks. I'm really on the edge about these. I feel like it could go either way I guess but I'm still suspicious. Like I said, I definitely got the "oxy Rush" that I'm so used to.. But is this something that can also be achieved with someone cutting these pills with fentanyl or xanxax or something else?? Im not taking anymore. I know the above aforementioned can easily kill and that's not something I'm going to play around with. Well I guess I covered everything that I wanted to cover.. And I do have pictures of these if you can even post them here and if I can figure out how.

3 a day isnt enough as these medications only last 4 hours even though doctors claim 6 hrs, it still isn't enough to get your sleep. I find myself in this same situation all the time. Many weeks i work over 70 hours and by the end of the day I took all 4 that im prescribed and haven't went up from 10s in 7 years, but with all the illicit drug abuse the doctors don't want to up anything no matter your situation. So many of us turn to the streets unfortunately. Good news though, I have found a natural solution for the pain and sleep and might in the long run be a substitute for percocets altogether. It's called Kratom and since i've discovered this amazing natural medication life is simply put better. Just wanted you to know your far from alone.

I have the same question. If I line the m523 side all in a row face up and then turn them over the other side reading 10/325 is sometimes upside down or right side up. I got these from my friend who picked up my prescription and now I'm thinking the set fake?

I've been getting the same ones in the hospital. I've been getting an odd pain in the back of my head. I couldn't figure it out, because these are not the only pain meds I take in thr hospital. I can say... I'm not a fan of them.

I just left my pharmacy and picked up my monthly script. I have had Watson, RP, some others. The yellow AKA Bananas or School Bus I can't find in my area. Instead of shopping around with Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Costco, some Super Markets with pharmacies, Target, Wal-Mart and the small mom and pop shops, I just go to my local pharmacy and take whatever they fill. Yes, each type (Brand) has a different effect, time of lasting, etc, however, today I was given these. They are oval and white. 10/325 on one side and M523 on the other. My label clearly reads the manufacturer is listed as AUROLIFE. I took one just before starting this post and personally I already feel relief. For how long, time will tell. Yes I take this 90 for 30 days so if I overdo it that's on me, insurance and my doctor will only go month to month. My doctor values his license so no shopping and my insurance will only let me fill 3-5 days early. How I take them is on me, I am a grown ass man and if my habit of 7 years has taught me anything it's to treasure what you have, don't sell them, don't give to a friend for recreational use, not even one. Hopefully, you can get the month out of it. When I crave and know the situation I put myself into I just sleep more. Less time awake is less time to take and overindulge. Not to be a hypocrite, I don't think I have ever made my script last a month.

Personally, I have had 6 back surgeries, 1 neck surgery, and 1 leg surgery. With my condition, I will be getting cut open every 3-4 years as my body deteriorates. I don't judge but I sure as f*** get judged and until somebody lives a day in my shoes I don't want to hear crap from anybody. Vicodin does not work for me. Dilaudid I is something I occasionally take but my doctor will only write one or the other. I am honest with them and they play fair. Dilaudid is just not my thing. I have and never will use Fentanyl, so for me it's Percocet. I also take Soma 350MG (it's classified as a muscle relaxer) since I have RLS but it states for pain. This helps (in my head) me get longer days with my Percocets. The purpose of this post is to #1. Let whoever know the manufacturer of the M523 on my label, again it's AUROLIFE as it reads, they may be part of another company, don't know or care and #2. Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid all looked (not any longer since I switched to a local pharmacy) at me like here he comes again. With 32 lbs of metal in my body, don't look at me, ask a million questions, call my doctor to verify, ask for two forms of ID all with a legal prescription. I don't take kindly to being looked at like I have two heads. Now we have an opioid epidemic which has been around forever but now it's addressed. This opens the gate to many other channels and drugs.

Hey I want to remain anonymous but my first name is michael Collins and Im from a small town called manchester that sits in the foot hills of Kentucky! Here in manchester drugs run famous almost gucci like! I occasionally visit a street called Bridge Street!! I get the generic 10/325 there and they are real I do believe except for the occasional bed bug smooshed into the imprint but I simply jus scratch the bug off and confirm from the numbers it’s generic and Real! I love the rush. And yes I do occasionally share with my girl Frand Brittany Hooker! She has a hard time reading the numbers since her accident... she only has one eye now! Sad story but anyways - we snap the pill in half and then we read the numbers to be 10 on my pill and 325 on her half and then we don’t take the pill because we confirm the pill to be fake! Pills kill and suboxone will wallpaper cocoon folks to the floor. Always, it's the small dose that tolerates life and maybe allows life to be tolerated...Heavy or careless use fill the graves... Resistance to medication is caused by increasing exposure...Reset a lower resistance by reducing your daily use...The many benefits of varying, mainly reducing pain meds provide positive benefits in just a few days..Lower your average use...On a bad day you will have those few extra pills that you will want and have.

The dr. will not prescribe more if you're honest. I just went through 2 knee replacements on both knees for the 2nd time and I fell and had a quad tendon torn. I then had 2 surgeries within 5 days of 1 another and I get prescribed percocet 10/325. I have been on the same pill 3x times since 2009 and my dr will not change or increase the dosage.

That is SUCH bs. I'm pretty sure what he means by the "rush" is the feeling that the drug is working. It's more of a warm feeling. DONT judge people because you don't know the shoes they walk in. I too had surgeries on my foot/ankle that were not needed. I have been to 3 specialists and they have all told me the same thing....surgery was jacked. The Dr who performed them lost his license. I am told that I have to just "live with it". This country needs to get off the whole "narcotics are bad" bulls***. SOME HONEST people actually need them to get through their day. Please think before you speak..or at least make yourself more informed on the situation before you judge others.

Has anyone thought to contact the FDA? Their website says they take counterfeits very seriously. I have considered contacting them myself. My med just stopped working and I was having withdrawal.

10/325 M325 are absolutely not counterfeit for anyone wondering. Why you wouldn't just look up the imprint instead of posting this garbage is beyond me. Now people Google this and the second result is you alleging that these pills aren't real.

Well here's the thing, if you're skeptical about the pills then you must have gotten them in a different manner than going to the pharmacy. Because if I had pills I was skeptical of, I would go back to the pharmacy and ask questions! But you didn't and there's an obvious reason for that! Why ask strangers when you could have gone to your doctor or the pharmacy?

A few comments:

1) There is a difference between fake medications & variation in the effectiveness of legitimate medications made by different manufacturers.

Medications obtained from legitimate pharmacies (cvs, walgreens, etc.) are not "fake" pills-- they are legitimate medications that simply may not be as effective as others, whether due to the unique physiology/biochemistry of the individual taking them or variation in the chemical composition of the medications. All generics are not the same, and all batches of pills made by a particular manufacturer are not always going to be the same, either. This does not make them "fake."

Actual fake pills are not ineffective medications or brands legitimately manufactured and purchased at a pharmacy. Actual fake pills are those not made by a licensed manufacturer but made by individuals on the street with a pill press from ingredients that are entirely unregulated and most likely don't have any of the actual medication they pretend to represent, but instead whatever cheap concoction of substances (apap, baking soda, powdered sugar, fentanyl) they can squeeze into the press and fraudulently pass off as generic percocet, lortab, vicodin, etc.

Just wanted to clear that up as a few comments here seem to misuse the term, referring to legitimate but (in their opinion) ineffective pills as "fake".

2) While there may be certain "tells" or signs that may suggest a pill is fake-- chalky, easily dissolved, glossy coating, hardness, taste-- there is no universal set of superficial indicators that can determine a pill to be fake. Oblong watsons, for example, are generally hard to bite and slow to dissolve; round mylan are very chalky, easy to bite and quick to dissolve. Neither are "fake," they are just different. Real m523's are chalky and quick dissolving.

The only surefire way to know what u have is a chemical analysis, however if u have experience with the products offered by multiple different manufacturers u can compare your past experience *with that specific brand and dosage* to what you have in hand. If u know watsons are usually hard and slow to dissolve, for example, it's just cause for suspicion if suddenly u come across some that are soft, chalky and quick to dissolve.

Again, this doesn't mean that every pill that is soft, chalky and quick to dissolve is fake, it simply means that u need to be wary of variations not between brands, but within the brands u are familiar with.

And of course, if u are obtaining pills from anywhere other than a licensed pharmacy or medical professional, there is no way to be sure of what u have (short of a chemical analysis) and u are taking a massive risk with your health and your life.

Stay informed and be careful.

One last point, in response to the addict-baiting and brow-beating...

When has prohibition ever worked? For anything?

10, 15, 20 years ago doctors would prescribe opioid medications without a second thought. They advertised oxycontin on tv like they do cymbalta or celexa today. There was no talk of any "opioid epidemic" until recently, literally within the last 5 years if not less. I'd say around ~2015/16 was the first year the phrase "opioid epidemic" entered the pop culture lexicon.

There was certainly no talk of an "opioid epidemic" at the height of the pill mill days in the early 2000s and street drugs were an uncommon thing.

It wasn't until big government dea/fda declared there to be an epidemic and started putting the clamps on doctors and making it harder for all the opioid dependants they created to obtain medication did people in genuine need of pain relief turn to the streets for pills and drugs to fight off the withdrawals. This took opioids out of the hands of doctors and pain patients out of the eyes of trained medical supervision resulting in the epidemic of overdoses we see today.

This is just another situation where the government stepped in between doctors and their patients, stigmatizing genuine sufferers of chronic pain as "junkies" and denying them legal, supervised access to help, leaving them desperate and leading many to seek relief on the streets, "relief" that has led to many deaths, imprisonments and countless destroyed lives and families.

Prohibition simply doesnt work. Bureaucratic, systematic government interference between doctor and patient doesnt work, it only scares doctors into pulling back leaving their patients hanging out to dry. And guilt trips and "junkie"/addict stigmatization definitely don't work as they not only turn patients away from seeking professional medical help but exacerbate the psychological issues and insecurities that may have led to the addiction in the first place.

Think about these things before saddling up on your high horse and brow-beating people for medical issues they cant control on their own.
