Percocet Dosage Limits 5/325 (Page 2)

I am taking the percocet 512 white tablets 5mg/325 for severe back pain due to degenerating disc(s). I have been told 1 pill every 8 hours, but find the pain so excruciating after about 5 hours that I cannot even stand... even to use the bathroom or shower. My MD cannot get me into a specialist until August, but I am having real stress here. Will it be harmful for me to take more than the one tablet per 8 hours??

Rhondaspooky62, have you talked to your dr about extended release pain meds ? They last 10-12 hrs and the pain management is more consistent because they last longer.

I have Lower back pains I take
Oxycodone 5/325. Every 4 hours as need I take two or one pills depance
On how pains if before reach pain number 10 I must take before pains start. Not easy for me

Hello Everyone, I have lower back pains I take Oxycodone 5/325 for. Ever since the year 2007. When my pains gets worse I have to take two Oxycodone 5/325 that last me only 4 hours and when my pains come back I take one pill Oxycodone 5/325. I can't take long walks unless I take two Oxycodone 5/325 pills. When I do house cleaning I must take Oxycodone 5/325. Whenever I am not doing anything I take only one pill Oxycodone 5/325. My pains always come and go. Not easy for me. If you know a lower back surgeon/doctor please message me {edited for privacy}. If I had back surgery it might help me have less pains than taking Oxycodone 5/325.

I had the same situation! I had herniated discs L-4, L-5 and S1. My dr yelled at me too, I had titanium rods and a spinal fusion also. I thought the same thing that no one else would take my case . The dr thought I was taking too many pain pills but I could hardly walk either. He finally yelled at me do you want a second opinion? I said yes. I was referred to a great neurosurgeon . He did s laminectomy on the same spots. I just had the surgery two weeks ago . I still have some pain but nothing like before . Try a neurosurgeon ! Good luck !!!

I am currently on perc for hemaroids and it is NOT working! I am in excruciating pain! Don't want to OD but am just about DONE.

U will be fine the maximum dosage is 12 percocet 5/325 daily my bottle reads take 1 or 2 pills every 4to6 hrs I mean it's not good to take 12 in a day of course but that is the maximum for one day

I had the epidural blocks (steroid shots)'worked pretty good for about 2 years. Then I went back to my spine surgeo, he did lamenectomies on L4'to S1, both sides, stopped nerve pain on left side, came back on right side, then he did one L4 right
side. No help. Then again L4 on right side. Got most of it but still had some pain pretty often. Learned about neurostimulator on Internet, I got one implanted & I' e had no nerve pain since August 2015!! While you're looking up neurostimulator look up Alpha Stim. I would gotten alpha Stim first if I'd known about it,Alpha Stim is noninvasive and it works!! My psychiatrist has one himsel

Not at all,but just make sure that you don't call for a refill early. If you do then your Dr is going to drop you all together..

My mother -in-law thinks I took 7 percocet 5/325 in 1 and half period which I've told her that I would either be dead or in a hospital if did that but she doesn't believe me

Only a complete returd would advise taking a stimulant to combat opioid addiction when relaxing and sleep are 2 major withdrawal symptoms

I take the same oxycodone 5-325 for post ACDF neck pain... My tolerance has me up to 6 pills a day... I have also found that the right kind of cannabis helps tremendously... If you NEED to, start slowly to avoid OD...

Herb it's posed to be every 6 hours for opiate naive and every 4 hours for someone used to opiates Jeepers after five years of getting 30mgs 4/day..I had a doc last month prescribe 2 10mg perc once every 12 hours! I was like...what about the other 18hours? Acute or chronic pain it's still every 4-6 hours depending on tolerance!

Taking one extra pill will probably not kill you. Just be warned that this drug can be very addictive. Just use your sense and consult your DR or there may be anonymous nurse lines to call where you are. Even ask a pharmacist. Be careful not to mix with other CNS depressants such as alcohol or benzodiazepines (xanax, Valium.)

I know this is ancient but it just popped up! Caffeine, sugar and alcohol are the WORSE things for withdrawal! They intensify it! Drink plenty of water and/or juice. Do you don't have to read again: avoid things with sugar, caffeine and alcohol because they will make your withdrawal worse. Take some Imodium, benedryl and anything else that will calm you down and help you relax.

Robin , if the prescription says one pill twice a day, that is the way up should take it if you don't want to run out and be without pain meds. You need to look into seeing a pain management dr.

Doctors seem to always under prescribe and it definitely causes a lot of patient suffering .

Drugs that say good for 4 to 6 hours never last that long , try 3 1/2 effectiveness at best.
