Pe On Lung And Heart Damage

Im so glad i have found this site. I had multiple pe in feb 13 and also 14 yrs ago when my baby was 10 weeks old. The 1st time it happened i thought id had a heart attack. BANG couldnt breath properly, lift baby and unable to lift arms without pain.Was in alot of pain. Took warfarin for 6 months and i seemed to be ok apart from being tired.

This time was completely different, i started feeling tired and then breathless and over 6 months i got weaker and tired and felt like i had someone sat on my shoulders and chest. My heart kept going funny and fluttery. It felt like i was suffercating. Went to drs 8 times be4 hubby came with me and demanded a ct scan.

Again multiple pe's and warfarin for life. Within 2 days of takkng warfarin i got sciatica was in agony from feb to october. Could hardly walk. Just wanted to end it! Was told warfarin not to blame. 15 months iv been on warfarin now and im tired, breathless, every muscle~bone aches. And my heart has been left slightly enlarged but drs not worried. Even tho im still getting pressure in chest and headaches and stiffness in neck, back. Not sure where i go from here. I dont trust drs they have failed too many people.

Hi Verwon,
Have seen GP, heart specialist and chest specialist. Although I have improved in the last year I am still not 100%.
Was told heart was fine on scan but on ct scan it was little enlarged. Lungs look clear and no damage. Not sure I trust the outcome as my GP failed to pick up my illness and she is a heart specialist. A friend of the heart specialist no doubt.
I am exercising every day but still have symptoms.
Have you suffered with PEs?

Hello, Kas! How are you doing?

If you had PE, there may still be a clot in there that's causing your symptoms.

What type of doctor have you been seeing for this? I'd try to get another opinion, if you can.
