Had a bad fall 3 months ago. Hit the floor hard on my right knee, hip and shoulder. My right knee was swollen for almost two weeks. Took about a month and half to recover. After two x rays the doctors told me "no bones broken or fracture but soft tisssue injury". Gave me ibuprofen and gastric medication. Recently that is more than 3 months after the fall, i had pain in my right knee. Two weeks ago it became swollen around the knee and i had to limp to move around. Although the swelling has reduce a lot yet it pains when i touch
Or move my right leg. Feels like tightness just below the kneecap.

You might have sprained the knee, but over extending the tendons, ligaments, or both. The NIH warns that this can be a very painful condition and may take 3+ months to heal.

My husband fell at work back in mid-December, her suffered a severe ankle sprain, and he is still having problems with it. He starts physical therapy this week. We finally had to have an MRI done, before we got to the root of the problem.

Have your doctors ordered any other tests?
