Pantoprazole Withdrawal Concerns

I ran out of my prescription for pantoprazole last night and couldn't refill today. Now I have to wait till monday. I'm taking 40mg twice daily. Should I be concerned to wait that long?

How long have you been taking it? This medication is generally meant to only be used for a short period of time to reduce the amount of acid produced by stomach to treat, or prevent conditions, such as ulcers, GERD, gastritis, and heartburn, according to FDA reports.

It is also available over the counter, so you can pick up a small supply at most local stores to help you, until you can obtain the prescribed refill.
