Pantium 40

I have been prescribed Pantium 40 (twice daily for 5 days) along with Phexin to treat some skin infection. I am presently in 14 weeks of pregnancy. My question is that is it safe during pregnancy? Possible side effects if any?

Pantium 40 will not treat a skin infection, it contains Pantoprazole, this is a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach. It treats conditions such as GERD, hearburn and ulcers.

Side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness and flatulence.

As to using it during pregnancy, this site is not medical professionals, so it is best to follow your doctors instructions.

Phexin, however, is an antibiotic, it contains Cephalexin and will treat various types of infections.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea.
