dave costochondritis is an inflammation between the ribs that causes extreme pain, similar to a fractured rib, hurts to breathe cough and move, can be like a catch in your side, it can come and go, you use anti inflamatories for it like ibuprofen/motrin or alleve/naproxen. even though its been days you cant rule out your heart, it would be best to see your doctor.
