OMG!!! Dilaudid is one of the worst narcotics to withdraw from. I experienced major Anxiety and panic attacks. Muscle aches and tremors, insomnia, itchy sores developing all over my head and body. Blurry and teary eyes. And every withdrawl is always worse than the one before. God be with you if you are going through this xo
Wow That is Sad but you seem to be a Fighter,Very strong person. I wish u all the luck in the world on managing your pain...
Hello, Hauler! How are you?
Has your doctor prescribed all of these?
It's odd to be on 2 regular release medications, as well as the time released patch. Usually, just one regular release is prescribed for breakthrough pain.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Taking too much can create the risk of overdose, especially if you aren't opiate tolerant.
Trust me, you don't want to. I'm trying to get off all this and am in the worst withdrawal.
Find other meds
I have been prescribed Fentanyl 50 mcg patches every 48 hours, 40 mg Oxycontin, OPANA 1 every 8 hours and 10 mg Oxycodone 1 every 6 hours. I also take 3 300 mg Gabupentin every 8 hours and 10 mg Valium 2 times a day. I'm a 40 year old man with kinda bad luck. At 23 years old I got in a 110 mph snowmobile accident on the lake, in 2005 I broke my back in 5 places, in 2006 I had Spinal Meningitis, that was rough, In 2008 I broke my Sternum down the left side falling from a 14' deer stand landing chest first on to a 4" log, in 2009 I broke my back and all my ribs on my left side, in 2012 I was hit by a 1/2 ton GMC truck to 12" shoulder to shoulder and I've had 5 surgeries with metal, pins and screws installed, 2014 I broke 2 more ribs and tore some of the cartilage away from my sternum. Now just 3 weeks ago I found out that I have about a 90% chance that I need a hip replacement on my left side. Although I take all that medication I would say my pain never really goes below a 4 on the Dr's pain chart. I still can't raise my arms above my chest or so. Well that's my story. Good luck to all of you!
Was on Dilaudid for hip replacement.
Horrible drug to get off of. Am in withdrawal now. Tried Fentenyl patch and that was just as bad.
It sounds like you are going to be on pain meds from now on.
