Orange Subutex 153 (Page 3) (Top voted first)

Updated

I refilled my monthly subutex Tuesday and received orange oblong tablets inscribed 153. My pharmacy has carried 54/111 over three years. Does anyone know if the orange ones are going to permanently replace all other generic Buprenorphine? Also, are any other patients experiencing loss in quality? Thank you

Funny there's no real war on hyrocodone/morphone/oxycodone/or morphine. And methadone. Well they actually have methadone in our water supply across the USA in higher metropolitan areas and even in some lower populated areas. So you have to wonder, ask the big question. What's the big deal with buprenorphine? It not only is way safer with less side effects and abuse potential then methadone. But its also been looked at for anxiety and depression. So if you have this drug that keeps you clean happy and a better part of society. Well then, why the big war?!?

The reason generics are cheaper and less effective then namebrand is each manufacturer has the go ahead to make their version up to 20% less of the said active ingredient in their medication. So if you have been taking 8mg of subutex from one generic manufacturing company and it only pu say 95% of the active ingredient in each tablet. Then switch to a different manuf. They could have made theirs with the minimal amount which would've been 80% of buprenorphine. Although your slightly uncomfortable it'll pass within a week and your body will get use to it or you can explain this to your Dr. They will know what your talking about and ask for an extra 2mg or 4mg tablet to take a day. I personally just got used to it because gov. Is making such a huge deal over this crap.

I have been on the white ones for about a year saved my life from pain pills. My insurance was covering 8 pills and i had to do another pre-authorization to get my insurance to cover a portion of them again well when I went to the pharmacy today they explained that my insurance would cover the whole prescription and that they would only cover actavis manufacturer. The pharmacist explained that it was the same exact thing and that he had to order them but it was just a cheaper manufacture and that I will now be receiving orange pills with a half moon. Very scared that this will not be the same especially after reading all these reviews

I've changed my mind on this reply I wrote. I still take and the orange ones work better in my opinion. But Bup is Bup...all the same I'm sure.

Hi Zonda,

It works the same.. In my opinion the only difference might be the taste. Had a bit of a stinging bite to it but nothing unbearable. I myself prefer the Orange now over the white ones..As crazy as it probably is, I think they last longer.

Mary, why did you decide to stay on subutex? I'm just curious if you tried to stop? You had mentioned you were weaning off in posts from last year.

Hi,
I stayed on for a couple of reasons. Like I said previously, I was addicted to pain killers for years..my doc and I talked it over and thought I was jumping the gun and didn't want to see me go back. I only get 10 subs a month now.. This is just enough to keep me happy and not have the erg to screw up. I do suffer a lot of pain and subs help with that as well. I also just found out recently I may have breast cancer...playing the waiting game right now. But no matter what happens, I will continue the subs over pk's durring treatment. I think I stay on subs for peace of mind...I'm weaker then I think.

I was in another area of the med chat..I thought it was all the same, but anyway..omg, people are so rude! It's good to be back here..you all were always so kind. I remember when I first started here and some of you really helped me out. I was called every name in the book for just giving my opinion..it was crazy! I hope everyone is doing well..it's been a while. I just wanted to say thanks again for all your support in the past.
I also wanted to say...I went from a full script to 12 a month to 6 a month to 8 a month..now I get 10 subs a month and it works out great.
Peace

Sorry Sammy, I didn't answer question. I have no clue if its permanent..it depends on the cost between the 2 and what the pharmacist orders. But Different drug stores carry one or the other. If you prefer the white I would call around.
Good luck

MARY DO YOU WORK FOR ACTIVIST? YOU WOULD HAVE TO TO THINK THAT THE NEW ORANGE 153 ARE GOOD!!!!! lol THEY ARE BY FAR THE WORST ON THE MARKET AND SENT ME INTO WITHDRAWS I SWEAR I THINK THEY PRODUCE THEM ON THE SAME EQUIPMENT THAT MAKES SUBOXONE BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO HAVE A LOW AMOUNT OF NALOXONE. I CONTACTED THE FDA AND SO SHOULD EVERYONE WITH SIDE EFFECTS @1-800-FDA-1038. ALSO TAKE AS DIRECTED NOT HOW MARY SAYS TO TAKE 1MG OF A 8MG TABLET IF YOU ARE A NEW PATIENT TAKING THE MEDICATION FOR WITHDRAW YOU COULD RELAYPSE OR JUST FEEL MISERABLE IF YOU LISTEN TO MARY, JUST TAKE AS DIRECTED.

Yes it will be hard. If you take them exactly if not less than advised, you will detox with the least repercussions of your actions. There is no miracle cure. It will hurt, and if you are lucky and strong will come out clean and have a chance at a normal life without pharmaceutical crutches. Do the work, suffer, and put it all behind you. Don't wait, it becomes twice as hard every day you don't. Good luck stranger.

Wow got stuck getting the orange ones again this month. THEY SUCK. Im guessing the only way they are still around is because people cant find the ones they want so they settle on the orange ones. I have met one friend in my community who is okay taking orange. Absolutely everyone else prefers another generic weather its the big whites or the babys. Sorry Activist, you struck out with this generic big time :\

Been on subutex for 6 years. Been prescribed the 54/411 by Roxane for years and absolutely loved them. Did what they were suppose to do. A couple of months I was given the small hi tech arrow 8 white pills and I thought they were the worse ever until I picked up my script this month. These activis orange ones with 153 on them are horrible. Absolutely the worse. I would rather have the small ones any day over these. Please let me find a pharmacy with my Roxane's. I cannot do these activists brand. It feels like a placebo pill. This cannot be the same amount of meds compared to the other two.

Hi everyone!
In regards to people asking about the light orange oval shaped BUPRENORPHIN 8mg SUB SUBL with the numbers 153 on one side and a half moon on the other side, But first let me say, I asked my doctor this visit if I can be put on the pills instead of the 8mg strips because of the outrageous costs of the Suboxone 8mg strips that is not covered by my health insurance. (Thu My husbands work) and the doctor agreed. Thank goodness because paying almost $10 a strip at 60 strips a month was killing us financially. Plus the monthly office visit at $140 cash. Does not take insurance. These 8mg pills are $3 @ 60 a month. What a $$ difference!!! And the reason to this message is to tell you all that YES THE ORANGE OVAL OR OBLONG PILL OR WHATEVER YOU ALL WANT TO CALL IT WITH 153 on half and half moon on other side WORKS WONDERFUL!!! The only thing I don't like about it is the taste I was trying to get away from the taste of the Suboxone 8 mg strip but this is almost comparable not as bad but close. you still have to put the pill under the tongue and dissolve it , you can't swallow it but it does work
