Open Heart Surgery And Ecosprin
UpdatedI am age 56. One year ago I did avr by open heart surgery. I am taking ecosprin 75mg. Today while I was taking a hot shower and bath I started getting a bloody nose. Is this a side effect of ecosprin or is it related to the heart surgery I had in any way?

This medication can cause blood thinning as a side effect, according to NIH reports, so yes, it could have caused the bloody nose. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation.
Are you on any other medications? How long did it take for the bleeding to stop?
