my Dr prescribed Opana 40mg as alternative to Oxy 80 mg 2 twice a day which I would insufflate - I didn't tell him this of course. he claimed them to be just as good if not stronger can any one share about opana 40mg

Suboxone is an opiate blocker. I dont understand how morphine would help at all if the suboxone is blocking your opiate receptors

to steveo50 oxycontin has been out in america since 1995 produced by pharma corp and its been around since 1916 look it up. You are taking oxycodone with acetametophin other poople on here are taking oxtcodone by itself so you cant complain that their liver will shut down if they are taking the opioid with out acetametaphin, its the acetametaphin that screws your liver not the opioid.

Oh hey GUNNEY! take your own advice and know your info before posting. OPANA is a synthetic morphine differing from real morphine by giving you a less euphoric high. Read my earlier post bubba, you shouldnt type in caps when you are obviously not worth bothering with since your I.Q. is probably below 32. Thank you, have a nice day!

This is to twankies, oxymorphone is not oxycontin and morphine. Oxymorphone was fierst developed in germany circa 1914 and was then patented in 1954 by Endo pharmaceuticals it is a synthetic morphine called 14-hydroxydihydromorphinone. The name oxymorphone was derived from an analogy of the Nucodan name for an Oxycodone product. Have a nice day!

I WAS TAKING 80 MG OC TWICE A DAY, then the new ocys ops wewre a joke . i called my doctor he made me come back in and swicthed me to OPANA 40 MG TWICE DAILY opana in my opion. are alot beeter medication, for sever chronic pain.i hope this helps
you also i use 10 m6 every 8 hours for break threw pain. i take methodone for sever chroincpain in my lowe back .i take four aday. thiis seems to really work for me .good luck.

My sons best friend (early 20's) died 3-11-11 in his sleep from snoting less than a one inch line of this drug. PLEASE KEEP THIS MEDICATION OFF THE STREETS UNLESS YOU WANT THE BLOOD OF OTHERS ON YOUR HANDS! God see's ALL!

the opana is way better than oxy for pain you will not have any withdrawl the pan is equilvelent to a oxy 40 wait two months and ask for twentys opana they will really help more

This is a site to help inform people about this subject matter, not to pass out Bible-Pamphlets! Go door to door and do that, or get involved in your local health department's volunteer services, if you truly want to make a difference.

Your religion should not be on this site, as I could care less what anybody's person beliefs are, with regards to spirituality. You have your opinion on religion and I have mine. If you don't have any scientific, empirical information to provide, I would suggest keeping your religion in your pants and doing the right thing.

Unless you can prove it, it means nothing to me.

I had never been prescribed oxycontin until last week. It was this stuff everyone on here is referring to as having an OP on it. Although I have no previous experience to compare it to, I can however tell you that I had a horrid and violent reaction to it. I literally thought I was going to die. A migrain that still hasnt went away, 3 days later, extreme vomitting, made my internal organs feel very painful, a rash all over and chest pains. Im starting to just now subside with some of it and have now been presricbed opana er. I am hoping for pain relief soon. Sorry for all you that had fantastic results and now have little to nothing. I know that stuff almost killed me. And even though I feel bad for people suffering with addiction on here, as a fellow human being, but its pretty bad that the addicts can shore up the difference with street drugs and chronic pain people, cancer pain people, etc.. dont have that option.

I have taken Large doses of Oxycontin for 10 years now, Recently i was not able to get any more Oxycontin OC brand the OP Oxys made me very sic, Thats another story stay away from them. Anyway the day came this month and i had no choice but to try a new medication and thank god i have one of the best pain Doctor that truly cares and works with the person, The Opana is a wonderful medication as soon as i started taking it there was no problems,if you take 80mg Oxycontin people and the pharmacys claim that Opana 40mg is the same as Oxycontin 80mg, Wrong its about the same as a 60mg Oxy, Two 40mg Opanas will work As good if not better than one 80mg Oxy and no side effects or withdrawal, Its been a week now and my days are better and i know what to expect from the Opanas, every person is different so each has to try the meds to see what will work best, Opana wwill not last 12 hours because of my pain and Oxycontin never did, I get about 5-6 hours and need another dose to maintain a low pain level,and also use breakthru meds in between and im more happy with the Opanas then i was with Oxycontin, As long as people dont try abusing this medication alot of people in severe pain will have better days.

I knew I was going to get hammered. That's O.K. This is a site for medication help, but when someone is talking about dying that changes things a bit. No, I do not wish to make this a Christain site, it was one time advice for a hurting person. Sorry if you are upset, I did not mean to do so. It is sad though, that you find a need to insult a faith and a person rather than just make your point. I feel sorry for you. Take care.

I thought this was a forum for medication, more specifically, Oxycontin OP. When did I get on an Evangelical, Christian site? Really, not EVERYBODY is a Christian, in fact, it is a MINORITY religion.

I would recommend you find the appropriate site to push all of your fairy tales and simply ASSUME that everyone believes in the religion you think they should.

Seriously, save it for church, or people who are interested in religion.

MANY who have no "junkie" issues, developed addiction problems only after taking MEDS for legitimate injuries! & anyone who takes a narcotic pain med(s) will be addicted, that is just a fact ! But for a DR. to say ur addict, is correct ! I've never abused my MEDS, & my body is dependant on the RX, & my mind has been affected in the same sort of manor, so, I could be considered or tabled a "junkie" ! Be informed, be understanding, be compassionate, understanding now that Ive given u some food for thought, ok ! don't be so quick to judge, as u can't hold a man down, without staying down with him ! Use ur knowledge & experience to assist/help others, not "BLAST" THEM, CUZ IF UR ON NARCOTICS, ESPECIALLY FOR AT LEAST A FEW MONTHS, THEN U URSELF COULD BE CONSIDERED A "JUNKIE" ! PEACE BE TO U "BROTHER" !

I served as well; 1972-1976 in Thailand, Okinawa and Japan. You had it a lot worse than I . I am glad to hear that you are being taken care of in a good way. Never give up, have faith in God, He will give you the strength to endure some very tough things that can come up in our lives. Thank you again, you are a hero.

Hello all I'm a 32 year old fella I was injured in combat in iraq by an ied been on everything there is out there and was on methadone the longest 7 years but switched to the opana and wow I couldn't believe how I felt it was rough at first cause my dosage was incorrect at first but my doc is awsome he upped my dosage I'm on 40 mg twice daily and dilauded 4 mg 3 a day yay for that I feel so much better and I do agree it does kinda taper off after 8 hrs but that's why u have bt meds and I hate junkies to they should all freak off

sorry about the time frame about how long I have been taking oxycontin. I was injured in 7/1995 and was finally given the oxycontin for pain in 1997, along with fentynel patch(100mg) plus the lolly pops, plus morphine all at the same time to try and at least limit the pain. But as of this date none of it has been very effective. I stopped everything but the oxycontin. And yes I'm dying. I am a year and a half past the time that they thought I would live but I guess I'm to stupid to die. I have been checked to see what if any damage has been done to my organs, and you don't have to believe it, but nothing to date. I have been through a battery of tests and all including my heart are fine. I too believe that this stuff should have killed me long ago. My condition is what is killing me not the drugs, although I wish something would cause I can't stand being in pain all the time. I have RSD which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. It is very nasty and doesn't care what you are taking or who you are or what any doctor has to say. In fact most doctors won't even admit that it even exists, but it does and it is no fun. I wish someone or a doctor could tell me how to cure it. But John Hopkins hospital is doing a lot of research on it and from what I'm told may have a med that will put it into complete remission. The Germans have the ketamine treatment that has some success but only about 35 to 40%. Got to stop typing my hands won't take anymore movement. Thanks for responding to such a controversial subject.
