No, Omeprazole is not an antibiotic, so it doesn't kill any bacteria.

It's a proton pump inhibitor, so it prevents your stomach from producing excess amounts of stomach acid.

As to the angina, no this medication hasn't been known to cause that….however….

If you suffer from excess acidity, that can cause chest pain that many people mistake for angina. Such pain is often a symptom of GERD and esophageal spasms.

This medication can also cause gas, which could also cause chest pain.

Have you been diagnosed with angina? Is that what your doctor said the pain was from?
