Hello, Mary! How are you?

No, there is not.

There are directives that were issued by the DEA telling them to be very careful, when doing so and some doctors treating for addiction with Suboxone just don't want to prescribe it, but there is no law saying they definitively can't prescribe them together. In the past on here, I had erroneously used the term regulation, when referring to the directives from the DEA, but that really wasn't the correct term. These things aren't set as law, just suggestions for the doctors, to tell try to help stem the flow of abuse, diversion and improper prescribing.

Some doctors also prefer that the patient see an appropriate specialist for such a medication, since it may not be their specialty.

The FDA classifies Suboxone as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction. It carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Benzodiazepines can also be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Is there anything else I can help with?
