Norco Same As Hydro Dr Admitting That They Are
UpdatedHello Everyone! I will try to make this thread as short as I can. I got degenerative disc disease three years ago. I have been on Hydro 10/325 ever sense. Which worked wonders for me. I went to my Dr this week and found out i now have an elevated liver. Sign of to much Tylenol. I then went the next day to my PM Dr. and he prescribed me Norco. I told him about the elevated liver issue. Which i know I told him about. I called my PM Dr today and he said i did not tell him about the elevated liver. But, I have seen him for going almost 4 years. He RXed me Norco 10/325's. I thought that was odd but, trusted in him that he knew what he was doing. I had to take 3 Norco's that night and my pain never went away. Thankfully I still had 20 Hydros left from last month. I have researched on the web about the Norco changing company's and that there used to be a yellow Norco. But, they are telling me there has never been a yellow Norco ever made. I had to make another appt for Tuesday April 14th to see my dr again. I am so frustrated at how they are treating me like i am a street drug pusher and i swear to everyone on God's word I am not. Does anyone have any advice for me to help me with the Dr? When I see him on Tuesday? I don't want to make it seem like i am a street pusher. You know how PM dr's can be. All I want is pain relief for me.

A high liver count can be from a number of things. There are other lab tests they can do to determine the cause of it. Zohydro ER is hydrocodone without tylenol, although it is very expensive. Maybe you can mention this to your dr.
What is usually the next step up from hydro 10/325's without Tylenol in it. I need a pain pill. But, one that won't kill my liver. The one you suggested i can't take because, I have Diabetes. TY for the info tho =)
Have your doctor put you on oxycontin. I am allergic to Tylenol and ibuprofen and i take 40mg oxycontin hci extended release 4 times a day for an auto accident causing two herniated disks. When i had problems in the beginning with cvs i just called my health insurance and they gave me their central pharmacy address to send my oxy script to. Took 3 days total. Then cvs saw I had history taking them so now they order enough to keep my script filled. Also my doctor fills on the same date every month so cvs can stay stocked up. Yes it is harder to obtain these medications but with proper documentation and a good pain managment doctor you will be taken care of. And i live in broward couty FL where there was a huge pill problem so if i can fill mine im sure others can get relief using one of my methods proven to work
Have your doctor put you on oxycontin. There are a ton of pain medications, extended and instant, without Tylenol in it. I am allergic to Tylenol and ibuprofen and i am currently taking one 40mg oxycontin hci extended release 4 times a day and one 30mg oxycontin instant release 3xs a day for an auto accident causing two herniated disks. Best of luck!
Johny, TY for the reply. My problem in my PM dr is not all that great. He thinks everyone is out to get drugs to pill bush. But, I have an legitimate reason to take my pain pills. I don't want to go in there and ask about Oxy. He would surely think I was a pull pusher. So, how would I approach this Dr, to where he wouldn't think I was. I have passed all my U/A's every time. I just don't get it. Any advice on this anyone?
what i am asking is advice on how to speak to my dr about new drugs that dont have Tylenol or ibuprofen in it. And,i dont want him not to listen to me. I want him to listen to me and act like a compassionate dr. Any advice?
Kim
Just tell your doctor your concerned about taking a lot of aceto. And hurting your liver due to having diabetes. IR oxycontin or percocet 10/325s have the lowest Tylenol level on the market. Your doctor should be willing to work around your conerns
Jonny,
I have a copy of my lab results that show my elevated liver (which it is 67) and, they should be between 15-41. I am so hoping he will take that seriously. He is after all not there to pay me.I am there to pay him. But,we only have one PM dr where i live. And, they are so strict on what they feel they need to give the patients. Think the DEA is on them big time. But, I am hoping the lab results will help me get what I really NEED.
Kim, I would suggest you go to the ER the next time you have a problem with the new meds. Yes, it's an expensive move but at least it makes a record of your problem with the meds for your PM Dr. to confirm. I have a fused lumbar with degenerative disc complicated by Stenosis. I understand your problem very well. Also try to get your family Dr. involved as well.
Zohydro ER is extended release hydrocodone Without tylenol. It comes in several different strengths. You may want to as your dr about it. It is very expensive because it just came out last year and some insurance companies won't pay for it. But, it would open up a discussion on other meds without tylenol. It is possible that your high liver count isn't coming from tylenol. You also need to discuss the other possibilities with your dr. You can also ask your dr to doing another test that will tell what the cause of the high count might be. It is also possible that your liver count is temporarily elevated and won't remain there.
What dr do you go to I moved here and can't find one dr to rx me them
I went to PM Dr this Morning and he changed my meds from norco 10/325's to Morphine 15 mgs 3x a day. Is that about the same strength as the Norcos? I don't want to be in more pain since, it a lot lower of a dosage than i have been taken for almost 4 yrs? Any ideas?
Kim, Morphine is much stronger than Norco. The Morphine may or may not make you sleepy. But, it is very good for the management of pain.
I take Norco, 10/325. My pills are yellow. As far as I know, it's the manufacturer that's the difference in color.
Take hydrocodone 30 mg works great for back pain no time and no problems on your stomach
