Nitrofur Macr Abdominal Pain
UpdatedTook nitrofur for 4.5 days of the 10 day prescription. I quit taking it on Friday after one dose. Still have abdominal pain and diarrhea. Something weird is I feel like my privates are burning. The burning is not when I urinate. It's there most of the time. How long will I have these problems? Went to doctor and she said all is caused by the nitrofur antibiotic to quit taking it. She gave me a probiotic and have taken it for 3 days. Feeling better but still have the side effects. Terribly tired. I am anemic also so it probably affected that also.

Hi, very sorry about the problem you ran into with this antibiotic.
It has caused some odd side effects in some people that have taken it.
If your doctor said everything is okay otherwise, then it's really just going to be a matter of time. It may take a week or so, for things to start feeling back to normal.
Have things improved at all, yet?
