Never Taken Suboxone And Now In My Urine Test

My friend gets drugged tested each week. If it comes out positive to any controlled substance he goes to jail. 10 days ago, his test came back false/ positive for his urine drug test at his jail. They sent it off to be screened and it showed 130 milligrams of suboxin in it. He swears he hasn't taken anything like that!! All he has taken in the last couple of weeks is 4 ibruprofins! I am thinking someone slipped it in a drink at work....can someone help me here about what the next step would be to prove his innocence?

If they sent it off to a lab for further screening and it still showed a positive for it, then it isn't very likely that it's a false positive and it's doubtful there's much he can do.

When they do an initial test, such as the dip ones and they show a positive, they can be unreliable and show false positives, which is why they send them off for further testing at a lab, because the lab tests can distinguish more precisely between other substances that may cause false positives, or if someone actually did take the substance that showed up.

If someone did slip it into a drink, I really don't have any idea how he'd be able to prove that.

Did they give him an idea of what level of it showed up on the test?

well, i thought he was ordered a blood test but that didn't happen, so we are still on the urine test. He took two tests and both false positive. When the test came back from further testing, it showed to have 130 milligrams. Heck if I know anything about this number. I've tried to look into it but all I get is the different amounts....don't know how to understand how much 130 milligrams would be. I am thinking the next thing to do is to get a hair sample and see if it really is in his system, but not sure how much that would cost.

Your friend is lieing to you. If the initial screening test comes back positive, then they will send the sample off to the lab for confirmatory testing. (This is why they split your urine sample when you hand it to them.)

While screening tests often can come back with false positives, confirmatory testing is very specific and has a low false positive rate. So it is unlikely that he did not take it.

Furthermore, the idea that someone slipped it into his drink is ridiculous. Suboxone is only active sublingually. If you swallow it it is inactivated. So he would have to have held the drink in his mouth in order to absorb the suboxone.

Like I said, your friend is a liar and deserves whatever he has coming. Tell him to man up and accept responsibility instead of lieng to you and making you look like a fool trying to defend him.

If he's positive he didn't do it then he needs a hair follicle done by a certified lab.which will go back 90 days .I have failed urine tests for methamphetmine, 2 separate times never did in my life so to prove my innocence I paid the $95.00 dollars and both times proved that I was clean and no meth. These urine screens are being contaminated by the labs or something .I've even failed a swab as well and thank god I thought fast and did the hair follicle. Good luck hope this helps

Wow thats a lot of box to be slipped in someones drink. 130mg is over 16 eight mg strips. You would be able to taste that much in one drink im sure. Possibly even smell it where it has that sickly sweet citrus smell taste.

I'm hoping you can help me with my dilemma. I have never taken Suboxone but my daughter does and I pick up many many of her rappers and I've even handled the little orange strips. Well I had taken a test and Suboxone BURP came up in my urine and I didn't take it. I just didn't. She said it was barely there the number was 35 whatever that means. Please someone help me why did this show up in my urine? Thank you very much.

Sweetheart, if they sent it to a lab to check (and if he's being tested for court, they did) it IS NOT a false positive. I'm also sorry to say that your friend is lying to you. Suboxone has a horrible taste for one thing. Absolutely unmistakable and it can't be covered by any food or beverage. There's no way it was slipped to him without him knowing. Additionally, Suboxone is a sublingual medication. It has ZERO oral (meaning when swallowed) bioavailability. It isn't possible for him to have that high a level milligrams without having held the strip or tablet under his tongue for 10 minutes or so until it was absorbed.
