Need To Find A Doctor That Prescribes Pain Meds In Knoxville Tn (Page 12) (Top voted first)

I just moved here and i have ra along with degenerative disc disorder that is extremely painful. I dont have a doc. so i haven't been taking any meds and it is hard to just walk. I am in pain everyday and need relief fast. Is there anyone y'all can suggest that may be able to help now?

The real problem in this country is not pain meds it's the junkies throwing the s*** in their arm like these plans. Those were created for terminally ill folks not knee and back pain. And yes I also put some of the blame on some of these greedy Dr's that have no morals. I've been on hydrocodone since 1995 from a severe auto wreck and about 3 yrs ago I tore my acl and 2 fractures in left knee. I got degenerative disc disease in my back, scoliosis and osteoarthritis buy my Dr quit writing my hydro's cause of the new laws and those that choose to throw it in their arm. Yes I agree with the guy earlier if it's just the high your after then go to rehab and quit making it harder for people that really need it. My opinion.

I am dealing with the same issues with methadone. Of taken as directed it will help you manage your pain. It does not completely take it away but of you have chronic pain you know this. I have been on it about maybe 12 years. My problem is the same thing.I recently moved here and have never had any issues with getting my pain meds. Until I moved here. I have never seen so many doctors run scared of a drug in my case can be tracked for the last 18 years and never been asked to leave a clinic failed a drug test missed a count or anything wrong.I have been walked. in on by d.c.s. over a child I have custody of and provided counts with no warnings.I need help because they are pulling me off methadone because they say I am over the state morphine level ( which im alergic to). They have taking me down to 25 mg. A day split up over three times a day. I have had a tri- level fusion on my spine and it is getting worse every day . I have had my chest carved open and lost my sternum four times in right months. Has a major heart attack at 37 and didn't even know about pain meds. Through most of that. It goes on and on and o feel like I am being punished for what is going on in this town. I need to find a doctor that still beleves in diet do no harm to their patients and will stand up for people like me through all that's going on with these fruit loops out here giving anyone on pain meds a bad name. I know this last time they lowered my pain meds is gonna out me in a nursing home and cause me to loose a child that has been badly abused and unwanted. She don't deserve to have to loose the only person she has ever had to care for her. I have been wheel chair bound twice and my body is actually in worse shape now. The methadone has what's helped me push myself to stay in my feet and keep going.

Active Pain Management off Cedar Bluff is another one. I paid my 40.00 co pay and walked out with nothing but a list of things for me to do. The first thing you have to do is do a sleep study at their facility then I was told I had to go to an orthopedic doctor. Stay away from those crooks

Dr. Daniel Smith is a family dentist that will help with your teeth. He is located in Oliver Springs, Tn. Also, Dr. Naggy is an Oral surgeon and is located in Oak Ridge, & Crossville, Tn. Both are highly recommended for extreme cases. Dr. Scott Gallian on Harden Valley Road is a great primary care doctor and if he can't help, he will work hard to find you someone that will. Omega Pain Center with Dr. Egor is really well established and help a lot of people in your situation.

I had a tumor between L4 and L5 that damaged my sciatic nerve, I had a bulged disc and a slipped disc. When I had surgery I was also diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. I am looking for a doctor that will help without having to go to a pain clinic. I'm only 23 and it's hard to get a dr to actually believe my pain. I understand the opioid epidemic however I cannot live like this for the rest of my life. I just can't do it. I am looking for a dr that will take me serious, review my MRI, and maybe even call my back surgeon for assurance. I heard that those steroid injections in your back help so I paid 400 for them in a moment of being very very desperate for relief and it was a waste of time and money. Please someone share with me the name of a dr that will help me. I use to take oxymorphone and the dr's office didn't accept my new insurance. I had no problems stopping the medicine so I know it wasn't a problem for me but it helped so much. I would rather have a cure than to maintain it with pain meds but my surgeon said that where my nerve is damaged that it is something that can't be permanently fixed. This was horrible news but I'm willing to be called a junkie for relief. Help me please someone.

Pain Consultants of East TN on Weisgarber are the best in town. They have different programs they want you to attend, but they will help you. I've learned quite a bit from going there, actually, and i've been a pain patient for roughly 20 years. Dr. Joe Browder and Dr. Choo and they have 3 locations. Phone is 865-579-0552. I suffer greatly & daily from fibromyalgia pain. It's getting to the point where if I don't find some relief soon I won't be able to work and I have to work. Does anyone know of any pain management clinics in or around Knoxville, TN that treats fibromyalgia and takes insurance?

I would call your insurance office and ask who they pay for under "pain management doctors". I have done this before. I currently go to Bearden Healthcare in Knoxville. I really like them!!

I have chronic pain and also PTSD. Are there any recommendations for a doctor that will actually listen to me and prescribe me medication? I live in TN but willing to see doctors out of state.

I have been prescribed oxycodone for pain and xanax for my PTSD. I just returned from being out of the country and am in need of a good doctor that will refill my medications.

I live in Knoxville, TN and I used Tennova Pain Center for almost 10 years, until they closed last spring. Since then it has been a nightmare finding another decent a reputable place to go. Stay away from Coffey Family Practice! They advertise that they do pain management and they will give you pain meds as long as they can keep over ordering procedures and make $$ off of you. My ENT Surgeon gave me a referral to Omega and I had an appointment within days. The Doctor there (Dr. Smelansky ?, not sure about the spelling). He is a Neurologist and a Pain Management Specialist and he is wonderful. He mainly does Orthopedic problems but he took me as a patient with my brain tumor, chronic shingles, cluster headaches and Neurotmesis from a dentist who severed my cranial nerve with an injection. He is awesome and really listens to his patients. It is by far the best Pain Management Doc I have ever had. You need a referral and he did start me out on a low dose. They took away my 20 mg oxycontin time release and only prescribed the 10 mg oxycodone X4 a day. He gave me my Lyrica with a 6 month supply, for the shingles. I would highly recommend him, especially for the people who have Orthopedic issues.
