Since starting Eliquis, I have felt much stiffer and sore in the mornings and during the day with muscle tightness in my neck and back affecting my upper arms. A general sense of early aging that is unpleasant. Anyone else with these symptoms?

Could be taking it for deep vein thrombosis, which it is now indicated for.

I agree on all the side from Eliques, muscle pain, joint pain. just like you what can I do, had an ablation last Nov. Was great, no episodes of A- Fib Than after 5 months started to get them again, so i should be on some type of blood thinner to avoid a stroke, but what can one take??? Pradaxa, Xerelto, Eliques are all the same, do not want to be on Warfarin or Coumadin. Now taking everything under the sun that is considered to thin blood like a daily baby Asperin, Garlic pills, vitamin E, food that supposed to be good, was told that an Asperin is only good for lowering the platelets in the arteries. I am not so sure is it not the same to thin your blood??? Than that PA from my Cardiologist was pushing for Pradaxa and gave me samples. I am like you I need to be on blood thinners but what??? Would love to go the nutrition way. I am already being a Vegetarian, not for health reason, just a total animal lover, don't want any living thing have to die the so inhumane way. Just see those cattle trucks the animal crammed in there for hours on the road to the slaughter house in 110 degree weather. Just could not eat meat any more after being in a motel next to one of the holding pens. If anybody knows of something to thin your blood without those awful medication, I would be so appreciate that.

I had a pacemaker put in 2 weeks ago and they put me on eliquis twice a day and simvastatin and matoprol twice a day, I was excited to have energy but since taking this medicine I feel as if I have aged 40 years, stiff brain fog blurry vision, nap all the time, I feel awful, I'm a 59 yr old woman who had Afib

Suggest that you report these side effects to Bristol Myers Squibb and the FDA. If enough people do this, it will trigger more research into the cause.
but, your symptoms are consistent with the side effects of Eliquis. I've asked to have the dose reduced to 2.5mg twice daily to see if that mitigates the side effects since that is a dose given to post op knee replacement and deep vein thrombosis patients.

You are taking 3 drugs, all of which can cause the side effects you are experiencing. Metoprolol is a beta blocker which saps your energy. Simvastatin is to control cholesterol and it has the same muscle weakness and pain, especially in upper extremities. Eliquis also causes these same side effects, so it is difficult to know which one is the culprit. If you took Simvastatin and Metoprolol before without these side effects, then it is probable due to Eliquis.
Having said all of this, it would be interesting to determine if giving Beta Blockers and Eliquis can cause this, or is it related to just Eliquis?

If you have A. Fib., you already know that you have an increasing risk of a stroke. Aspirin is not an anticoagulant, but coats platelets to resist clot forming aggregation. The other drugs you mention are anticoagulants and reduce the risk of clots to about 1%. There are no dietary, or natural foods that I am aware of, that have any scientific proof of any significant anticoagulant activity. These drugs are the best option to prevent stokes (blood clot to the brain), but their side effects might have some better options, like maybe a reduced dose. Unfortunately, the companies will not conduct the scientific studies that could seek a balance.

The same thing happen to me first I was taking Xarelto and I starting lossing a lot of hair and developed join and muscle pain now I'm taking ELIQUIS and still feel the same and with headache. I'm going back to my Coumadin I hope all this pain go away soon. I'm only 44 years old and I fell like I'm 90

would anyone like to report if they are taking ELIQUIS ALONG WITH OMEPRAZOLE 10MGS MORNING AND 300MGS ZANTAC BEDTIME AND ARE SUFFERING FROM SEVERE NAUSEA AND SWEATINGS I THINK THERE IS AN INTERACTION WITH THESE DRUGS.
TINNITUS IS REALLY BAD.

I have been on eliquis for 2 weeks. A week after I started taking it I developed severe pain in both hip joints and the left knee. Before eliquis I was giving myself belly shots every day for 60 days and had no problem. My doctor said the only choice I have is to go back on those belly shots again. The pharmacist can only give me a supply of 10 every ten days because of the insurance company. Terribly expensive @ $4,000 a month. I couldn't not afford that were it not for my insurance. Why do these drugs costs so much with so many side effects? They should pay us to take them.

Taking eliquist twice a day for four months for Afib...two weeks ago stomach is burning, and losing my hair, and headaches over and behind my ear (sharp pains) rather than a headache. I am 65 aND also had an ablation which did not work...but I am now scared of this medicine.

CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY. YOUR SYMPTOMS OF STOMACH BURING COULD BE BLEEDING. YOUR HEADACHES COULD ALSO INDICATE BLEEDING. DON'T DALLY. CONTACT DOCTOR AND GO TO YOUR HOSPITAL PROMPTLY.

DRUG INTERACTION CHECKERS DO NOT LIST ANY INTERACTIONS BETWEEN OMEPRAZOLE, ZANTAC AND ELIQUIS. MIGHT TRY CONTACTING YOUR DOCTOR TO DETERMINE IF GI BLEEDING COULD BE THE CULPRIT.

My arthritis was under control when I was taking a tumeric/curcumin combination, but when I went on a blood thinner I could no longer take this vitamin combination because it is also a blood thinner. Thus my my arthritis returned. Bill posted that arthritis increases your platelets. In that case arthritis worked out well for me because my platelets were down to 46 from a hospital error. Since my arthritis returned my platelets have climbed back into its normal range 200,000...but what a painful trade off between arthritis and platelets.

This Eliquis is just terrible and now when you read symptoms like this it makes you think what will become of us in say 10 years time! I have toothache like pains in my head and arms shooting all over my body. My doctor was concerned and did loads of blood work including renal function evaluation because it can cause kidney problems. To my surprise every one of about 10 came back negative. Off I went on holiday with my Eliquis and I was told to up my Omeprazole to 20mgs in the a.m. Next thing I was experiencing severe palpitations and thought I would end up in a Cardiology ward. However my husband suggested to lower the Omeprazole for the 3rd week of the holiday which I did and everything went back to normal. Was it an interaction? Well I say yes despite what websites say. Regarding your vitamins there are so many of these everyday products that can cause serious problems; a good chemist will keep you right. I think when I collect the next lot of drugs from the pharmacist I will get him to fill out a Yellow Card and that way we should get a true indication of the problem.

Iv'e been on eliquis since august 2016 and have huge muscle and joint pain in my shoulders,legs,hands and lower back, also have a hard time getting out of bed or sitting position I am a veteran the Dr. doesn't know what's wrong, he said I need to see a Rheumotoligist and that will take up to 3 months, what a joke.I will have to seek a private Dr. to see what is wrong with me,I am sure it's the eliquis med.

Ive been on eliquis since Novemeber 9 2016. Ive noticed chest tightness and pain that comes and goes and its not everyday. Does anyone else get these n pains in the chest? I had a pe for no reason and they never found the cause waiting for blood test on tuesday to find out if im factor v but don't think so. I worry about the chest. My cardiologist said my heart was fine. Someone help please. Im 35.
