Hello, Roxanne! Sorry about the miscarriages, that's so sad.

Neither the Buprenorphine or the Naloxone in Suboxone have been shown to cause harm to the fetus, but they haven't been shown to be safe, either.

Learn more Suboxone details here.

From what I'm reading the only reason a pregnant women is usually switch to Subutex is to just lessen the possible risks, if any, by only exposing the baby to one medication, rather than 2.

Have you considered seeing a different doctor?

If this one isn't helping and you've had 5 miscarriages while taking it, then I think the best idea would be to see a different doctor who will cooperate and see what happens if you don't take it.

Have any evaluations been done to see what's causing your miscarriages? Such as checking your hormone levels?

I have seen several doctors actually...and I do have a new suboxone doctor now. I am in perfect health after many many exams. The only culprit that could possibley be causing this is the suboxone. Since there is no conclusive info on naloxone during pregnancy, I was wanting personal experiences just to see if I was alone. And feeling quite so. Which is a good thing. With this next baby we are gonna try subutex and see if it makes a difference. Im actually pregnant now...my hcg is just not rising very fast...every pregnancy has ended differently by the way....all pointing to problems with conception. Thank you for your reply:) and I am usually much more educated than every doctor I talk to. Every single doctor tells me something different ..the only thing they all agree on is that I should be having no problem having a baby:)

The buprenorphine/naloxone combination product is contraindicated in pregnant women; however, buprenorphine is a reasonably safe alternative on its own, without the naloxone component. Women who become pregnant should generally be transitioned to the buprenorphine monoproduct.
