They shouldn't be mixed without your doctor's approval. Both of them can cause depression of the central nervous system, which may result in dangerously lowered heart rate and blood pressure. This could cause serious problems for people with me medical conditions, such as heart failure.

Both also carry the risk of being habit forming.
