Metropolol Amlodipine

After many years on Lisinopril Hydrochlorothiazide my doctor switched me to a combination of 50 mg of Metropolol with 10 mg Amlodipine. I was stage II hypertensive even on 40/25 of the Lisinopril with readings averaging 184/94. The new combination has lowered the BP to about 134/82 on average, but I constantly have this weird pressure in my head like it's going to explode. Not exactly a headache, but a weird pressure. And I just don't feel well. I've been on this for 2 weeks. Has anyone else ever experienced this? It doesn't really fit the listed side effects. It rather scares me. I asked the doc and she was stumped, told me to try for another week or so.

Is there any way you can describe it more specifically? I'm sorry, but that is rather vague. I understand if you can't, I am just asking.

The FDA does list its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, and increased urination.

Have you checked your blood pressure, when you feel that way? It's really hard to say if it is due to side effects of the medication, stopping the prior medication, or possibly both.

Are you on any other medications?
