Hi my name is Janelle. I am 33yrs old. I have been on mmt for 13yrs in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I need a doctor to treat my pain from having ulcers. I just had surgery and i am really sick with diarrhea and vomiting. I have panic disorder with agoraphobia. I was molested by my father and my mother disowned me for having bipolar. I had a nervous meltdown and was thrown to the street. Please help me.

You are so correct it's ashame how people bad mouth the drugs that saved their lives and like you said this media network needs to update their messages there are always going to be people who abuse the system that's why some people look negatively at addict's who are on these legal prescribed drugs but believe me there are more people doing way better than they were before getting their help.Everyone is different some may not need to be on the met or sub as long as another person that's their journey so don't knock a person who decided they need to be on the drug longer than you cause you are know better than they are we all are recovering addict's and always will be stay strong and do what is best for you not someone else.

Unfortunately, if you've been in maintenance treatment, a private doctor will not be allowed to prescribe it for you. Remaining with the clinic is really your only option.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

What are you taking for the ulcers? You really need to treat them, to hopefully do away with some of the pain you're experiencing.

Please, if your looking to feel high don't post here bc your fiction disorders have no medical basis. In fact I'm a Medical professional on MMT and have been for 14 years. BLESSED to have a 28 day take home privilege and have for 11 of those years. If you follow the clinic rules and satisfy the DEA regs MMT can and does save life's everyday, so please let's get this information updated and VALID. Thank you all.

I don't think it's fair that ppl get to be prescribed suboxone in the comfort of a private doctors setting and get a monthly perscription when they can sell their medication for $$$ ....but if your on methadone and have a clean urine you can't get a monthly prescription and have to report to a place everyday, standing in a long line which you are exposed in a public facility. I mean everyday just to get well. Its not fair. Any suggestions or anyone riding in the same boat please respond and maybe this could be fixed.
