Methadone Detox Program
Updatedanything is possible I've been on methadone for 7 years and on 100mg and just decided to stop because i didn't want this for the rest of my life so its more about the strength of your mental health, having support and something to just take the edge of for the first few days.... well saying I'm of methadone I'm 6 days of 100mg and its nothing like i thought it would be... anyhow its the most evil s*** ever and really its a program for life even though they say "maintenance program" its crap one day you will have to detox if you want to have the life you dreamed of and that i have learnt is only when your ready. Anyway good to see I'm not the only one having this issue.

Hey Luke. I'm geron. I'm can no longer afford the methadone clinic.. I'm on seventy mg. is there a way to have a inpatient detox? Like I have no insurance or any means to pay, but am really worried about withdrawal
I've heard this from patients. in this case, ?Word on the Street is true" about methadone. However, (and I don't supervise this procedure wit methadone, or at least, I never have) I'm thinking that the standard withdrawal protocols, modified to account for NOT using a sub drug (e.g., phenobarb in barbiturate or benzo detox) is not used. The usual reduction is 10% per day, but with a drug used for many years, I"d go with 5% (200mg - 190mg Day 1, etc.) WE can use trazodone for insomnia and I'm thinking BuSpar 30mg BID for anxiety throughout. There are shrinks more learned than I in opiate detox and withdrawal. This should be covered my medical insurance and Medicaid (or your state equivalent). I have a bad feeling its not....
