Metformin 2500mg Side Effects
UpdatedI take 1500mg in the morning after breakfast and 1000 mg after dinner. I was told it can lead to early memory loss. Is this true? I've been taking this for quite a few years now.

Hello, Mary! How are you?
No, I've not seen that listed among its possible side effects, the only psychiatric one listed is headaches, according to the FDA, Others may possibly include nausea, dizziness, hypoglycemia, flatulence and diarrhea.
May I ask who told you? Was it a doctor or a pharmacist?
My son was prescribed misinform 500mg - one tablet twice a day. He has been on this drug for two months. I have been told that his kidneys are no longer functioning. He was being treated as diabetic that now was told he is not diabetic. Doctor had him taking insulin shots daily plus taking misinform 500mg. What options are available to me since being told he will now require dialysis for rest of his life.
