Metex Xr At 29 Weeks Pregnant

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and have been prescribed metex xr for gestational diabetes. Is this safe to take during pregnancy?

This is listed as containing the active ingredient Metformin, in a time released formulation. It is used to help lower and control blood sugar levels.

And yes, it can be taken during pregnancy, the FDA has it in category B, which designates that they've found no evidence of risk.

Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, flatulence and stomach pain.
