Massive Adverse Reaction

I took one statin 40 mg, and it has seriously messed me up its gave me abnormal heart rhythym, dizziness constantly and muscle twitching and spasms and weakness OFF ONE STATIN! its been a month now, will this stop!?

Side effects from one doe of the medication should not continue for this long. That's very unusual.

Its typical side effects are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches.

Have you consulted your doctor? There might be something else going on.

Are you on any other medications?

Side effects of statins can be a serious issue that should not be taken lightly. Statins are well known to cause muscle weakness, and even far more serious and even deadly reactions, such as a condition of muscle death called Rhabdomyolysis.

That you are still having symptoms means that you have not remedied the underlying problems that caused you to have a reaction to the drugs in the first place. These underlying problems are things such as Vitamin D deficiency or Coenzyme Q10 deficiency. Reactions to these drugs are serious, and whether statins are even needed or not is debatable, as the 'cholesterol theory' of heart disease is highly questionable in the medical community. In Japan, for instance, HIGHER cholesterol levels are associated with living longer.

When you take powerful drugs that disrupt natural processes in the body, such as statins that disrupt selenium, vitamin d, and coenzyme Q10 production, you are taking serious chances. Consumers need to do extensive research on the drugs they take and determine if these drugs are truly in their own best interests with full knowledge of their side effects.
