Major Psychosis Reacthion And Emotional Residual From Ranbaxy Lorazepam

Has anyone had a severe reaction to lorazepam manufactured by Ranbaxy? I had a reaction after having taken lorazepam from a different manufacturer and I do believe it is a manufacturer issue. Thoughts?

There can be slight fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one manufacturer to another. In most cases, they are not significant enough to make a difference, but you may be sensitive to any such fluctuation, so that's why it may have caused you problems.

One way to avoid it in the future is to ask your pharmacy to provide you only with the one you are used to taking. Many will do this for their regular customers, though if you have insurance you may have to pay the price difference between it and their current cheaper generic.

Alternatively, you could ask your doctor to prescribe it as 'brand medically necessary', so you avoid any changes in the future.

Yes. My pharmacy just switched me to lorazepam by Ranbaxy & I'm having major problems w/anxiety & weird thoughts. This just happened to me this week. I don't know what to do. I thought I was going nuts til I read some posts just now on another ativan generic discussion. calling my pharmacy right now before they close.
