Looking For A Dr.that Prescribes Pain Pills

I live n hot springs. Am a bit overweight. Taking pill for weight loss. Have lost 50 lbs. Have chronic pain in my knees. No Dr or orthopedic dr will give m pain pills. Xrays show severe arthritis. But nobody to help me. Even went to little rock n no help either. Can anyone help me.

Hello, Siss! How are you? I am sorry that you're in pain.

Pain pills aren't always the first appropriate choice to treat arthritis.

And what kind of doctor have you been seeing? If you do require them on a long-term, ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year.

Losing more weight could also improve the situation, since that places a lot of stress on your knees.

I've been to orthopedic drs. 4 a matter of fact. N one rheumoligist. My pcp want help m.

Try taking glucosamine and chondroitin. It's OTC and can be purchased at Wal-Mart. Next try a prescription anti inflammatory. Celebrex, mobic, you will need a prescription for this. I will tell you I don't think you will get pain pills for this. Try some low impact exercise like swimming, senior arthritis classes etc. The Dr will also try putting in some cushing inj. material as well. Due to all the issues with opioids I don't think you will be able to get them quickly. Plus for every 5 pounds ur over weight that's an extra 10 pounds of pressure on ur knee joints. Keep up the good work.
