I have to give my dog peri-pred (prednisone for babies) and her prescription has expired. Is it still safe to give my dog this liquid prednisone.

Expired tablets (depending on the type of medication and how it's stored) may generally be regarded as safe under certain circumstances. However, when it comes to liquid solutions, I don't think it's wise to take any chances if has been expired for any significant length of time. That's just my two cents though. So it may be best to discuss the benefits vs risks with a qualified veterinarian who can evaluate the dog in person. Surely, if it's only a few days to a week past due, I personally wouldn't have any issues with the expiration date, but this is your dog's health on the line and I would encourage you to get a second or third opinion before making a difficult decision.
