Lexapro How Long For It To Work
UpdatedBeen on lex for 7 weeks and suddenly my anxiety became worse. I'm now upped to 20mg for the last 4 days. Is this normal or should I be feeling better by now? I did have a week before it got bad again where I was feeling pretty good. Any input would be appreciated!

Hello, Lizzy! How are you feeling?
It will still take about 3 weeks on the higher dosage, before you see an improvement and know if it's working. If it doesn't, or if the symptoms get worse, you may need to try a different medication.
Normal side effects to this drug include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and dry mouth.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Thank you for your reply
It's now been a few weeks later and I have increases to 30mg. I'm better but still feel the anxiety. I've only been on 30 for a little o we a week. Shouldn't this dose eliminate the anxiety? Do I still need more time with each increase? I'm getting a little discouraged that I won't find a med that will eliminate the anxiety. Celexa worked really well for many years until I grew tolerant to it. I'm wondering if maybe I am tolerant to this one too? Any thoughts? Thanks again. It helps to hear from people who understand! !
