Laryngopharyngeal Reflux

Would like to know if anyone has been treated for LPR with PPI medication. Have you tried more than more one? If so, which worked best? I know every body is different and medication that works for one may not work for another. Just like to hear your experience. I am also aware that GI surgery is sometimes suggested, but it may not last or sometimes is not successful. Please feel free to comment if you have had the surgery. Thank you!

The main issue I had with PPI medications was due to the fact that they can cause stomach pain, as a side effect, according to FDA reports, they may also cause increased risk of hip fracture, fatigue, insomnia, and anxiety. There were too many times I ended up in the ER doubled over in pain, so I gave up on them.

I have not had the surgery, but I have taken several of these medications, and they never worked well for me, but I am sensitive to many medications. I had to resort to Pepcid, aka Famotidine, and it works quite well.

What medication has your doctor suggested that you try?

Are you on any other medications?
