Ketoanalogues Ketosteril (Page 6)

ketosteril was prescribed by my doctor in treatment of suspected kidney failure. The drug is very expensive here in the philippines, is there any substitute for Ketosteril 600 which is much cheaper?

MY CREATNINE IS 2.8 and hb is 10.1 all other factors like blood urea ,uric acid
k and Na are in control
nephrologist says that it cannot be controlled
I am diabetic but my gulucose level for last 3 months is 134 and index is 6.6
can I use ketosteril 1MB --for reducing creatnine level
it was 2.34 a few days back and 2.66 50days back
I am on low protein,less water,loow salt,no green vegetable,no citrus fruit etc

Yes, there is an option to expensive ketoanalogues. It is at least 3 Liters of fluids a day for women and 4 Liters of water for men. Dietary measures related to the provoking illness is mandatory as well as keeping your blood sugar and blood pressure under control

It takes discipline taking 3 Liters of water daily. It is not fun waking up 3 times at night to use the bathroom. But if dialysis is the eventuallity, it is worth all the sacrifice.

Ketoanalogues are necessary when ketones are elevated in your blood. This is common with severe Insulin dependent diabetics or hypertensives with circulation Problems (leg swelling or lungs and liver are swollen with fluids). These patients usually have shortness of breath. Their lungs try to eliminate the excess acids in the blood which their kidneys can no longer eliminate. So the lungs try its best to eliminate the acids from Body waste.

Each Patient of course is individually treated. Major consideration will be your creatinine Levels and sugar Levels.

I know a Patient personally in the Philippines who had creatinine of 1.5 and was prescribed ketoanalogue and renal vitamins. She doled 5000 Pesos monthly on both not including her BP meds. I advised her the 3 Basic things I advise you now: 3 Liters of liquids daily, dietary measures and control of her BP.

I told her to discontinue the ketoanalogue and buy Papaya and banana instead of renal vit.

After a month she had repeat labs. Her creatinine had normalized to 1.1

Go to generics pharmacy.. they have ketolog and that is cheaper than ketobest... i am also buying that for my papa...

I have pkd. Im an ofw and im having trouble to my medical clearance coz my creatinine us 1.4. i try ketobest for 1 week. Im taking 3 tablets a day. After a week my creatinine became 1.23, this week is my last chance to pass my medical clearance. If i pass the medical thanks to ketobest.
