ketosteril was prescribed by my doctor in treatment of suspected kidney failure. The drug is very expensive here in the philippines, is there any substitute for Ketosteril 600 which is much cheaper?

you may also want to compare the price of ketolog to ketosteril. it's cheaper but i can't remember how much cheaper.

ketolog is cheaper, it's php35.25 per tablet as compared to php42.50 for ketosteril

Hi!

We actuall have the same situation.. my mom's creatinine is 2.3 it used to be 4.2 but with efforts of controlling her blood pressure and blood sugar level we were able to lower down her creatinine.

She used to take ketosteril but yes, it is very expensive. Now, she is using ketobest 1 tab, 3x a day. Please go check on your mom's nephrologist, they usually have ketobest since it can't be bought in drug stores.

Hi Raquel...i buy ketobest at 3Kpesos for 100tab from our nephro....but do not offer sr citizen discount. Kestosteril, i buy at 3.042Kpesos including sr discount. we consume 200tabs per month. would be good help if we're able to find cheaper ways to buy these meds.

yes i know there are generic ketoanalouge in the
Philippines today, two to be exact.
ask your doctor about medicines first before buying them.
Ask them, is it bioequivalent? is it adequately tested?
does it have any published trials? or just a mere copied molecule.
I am a health care provider. Weigh the benefits first
because kidney disease is a delicate and complicated disease,
you can not compromise the safety of patients just because it is more affordable.
Lives are to precious to be wasted on wrong decisions.

2 generic ketoanalogues are much cheaper but they dont have clinical studies and bioequivalence, this means that they still dont have enough evidences that this two drugs are effective in treating renal failure, we dont know if there are side effects. we shouldn't compromise health over affordability. stick to your trusted brand.

ketolog is much cheaper/same content and same indication. 35.28 selling price,senior citizen discount of 32% for only 25.50.it was proven effective.prescribed by MD's

who's nephro and what place?ketolog is much cheaper and can sell it for as low as 27/tab.it was proven effective and usually prescribed by a lot of MD's.2nd to ketosteril same content at a cheaper price

it is all about the money, and the people that have the money could care less about your health or mine. in the us the big drug company''s pay to keep drugs from fda approval just to maintain a healthy proffit margin.
