Kansas City Mo Pain Medication Prescribers (Page 6)

I am uninsured and have a referral to a pain management clinic, but cannot afford the clinic. I would like to know of any cheap doctors who would prescribe the narcotic pain medication I need to be on in the Kansas City MO area.
If you self medicated don't expect to find a Dr that will treat you'd pain. There are no laws that say if a patient self medicated that a Dr can't prescribe pain meds. But patients that are prescribed pain meds need to be responsible.
I am so did heartened. I was med free after three yrs of pain management from three open abdominal surgeries. Something is going on with my incision wound or that area and am in extreme pain. I've been sliced and diced and now gave to live with this. I am panic stricken now facing full withdrawal on top of the pain. Need to work to live and they make it impossible. I'm not a criminal nor drug seeking fool. I'm honest and hardworking with family to support. My tolerance scares most drs. But they could expedite the referral process if they wanted to. If you haven't been in our shoes there is no way to understand the ups and downs, the ins and outs. Its cruel how we are treated just by needing these meds. And when they don't listen it makes it worse. {edited for privacy}. Willing to listen learn and teach. Trying to connect with an old PCP that knows me to get a bridge and referral. But navigating this in my shape is just down right unbearable.
I still check n once in awhile... And I agree that there should be a support group for the laws and regulations
Does anybody still post here ? In kc and just had a fall out w pain Dr. I tried telling them that tens weren't strong enough, I have the curse of a naturally high tolerance to opiod meds. They allowed me four months , long enough to have severe withdrawal if stopped. I would make it three weeks and withdrawal for one week until I got monthly script. Well the pain was too much and gone in two weeks, I broke my contract because I self medicated and now they tossed me to the wind. They are supposed to give a referral but by snail mail. Wish me luck and might I add we should all get together and make a lobby group to get laws on our side and hold there feet to the fire so to speak.
I'm in a similar situation with my Dr quitting and not having insurance but am in severe pain. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of cheap pain meds and muscle relaxer for my back. I have a compressed disk
Hello, can you give me advice re: a hydromorphone prescription?
And you don't need a referral for them but YOU MUST HAVE RECORDS OR AND MRI/CT ...that is a must!!! AND they do verify that information as well...
AND HONESTLY THERE should be more clinics LIKE them!!!!! Then it would NOT BE so difficult to get the help that is needed, since they do MANAGE YOU... And if your medical issues are true than, they will write for you....
You can try Westport plaza pain management if you are in the kc area, they don't take any insurance, but do provide excellent care for pain management...hope it helps!! Btw, it's $200+ for the first time and $100 ea after...
I need to find a dr that will help me with my chronic pain from RA ,fibromyalgia and various injuries. I am very frustrated and at the end of my rope. I only have medicare for insurance. I am tired of living in pain. My current dr acts like i am a drug seeker even though i have only received 5 scripts from him of 30 7.5 mg loratabs in the past year. I need help please. I cant go on like this.
Why don't you people try me this one, or Sub. Strip's.
Hi, I am actually from out of town and have carelessly left my pain prescription in Arkansas after a very back car accident I have a week ago. I saw that you mentioned being able to help get a prescription for another woman that posted on this thread. I just need enough to get me through til I return home from this NFL game. I don't know that I'll be able to walk without some sort of management. My muscle relaxers aren't doing any good for me at this point. Any way you can help?
Which clinic did you find?
I am on Medicaid now and dealing with similar issues. There is a pain mgmt clinic in Cameron that accepts Medicaid and Dwayne Jones also does. Jones has multiple offices but only sees Medicaid patients in Blue Valley. So there ARE Drs in MO who accept Medicaid so please don't be misinformed by someone who does not know.

I have the same problem I live on carrollton outside of kc. I have no life because of pain rejected for Medicaid and to poor for insurance. I always get the same crap going anywhere them treating me like I'm a junkie. I don't even ask for meds I just go in and tell them about my back problems and o then get the cold shoulder. Personally I think every doctor should have to live in pure agony for a time so they can understand the challage
Are you allowed to say who or where your dr. Office is? Why can't we message each other? We aren't even allowed to say "hi my name is susy alba" my email is my name one word at the ya whoo. Site .....hmmmm.
Thanks Kat!! I am looking in to it .. this site would be beneficial if you could have more personal conversations to discuss these things with each other, in better detail, but thank you for the quick reply!!
You MUST GET A "Pain management REFERRAL" from your doctor! THEN find a pain management clinic to FAX THE REFERRAL (this is something your doctors office must do.) the pain management clinics will help you get the injections/pain medicine/ and surgeries if needed. But you have to get a referral. If you have Medicaid there are clinics that accept that in Kansas NOT in Missouri, so I just drive over the border to my doctors office. Good luck, I hope this helps because I understand your pain and frustration.
