Jadelle Contraception Side Effects (Page 2)
UpdatedHas anyone had the jadelle implant and had bad side effects? I got it done a weeks ago and have started light bleeding over the last few days and it wont go away as well as my skin breaking out.
Im sorry to hear about your side effects! Jadelle is not as easy as i once thought! I have had mine in for six Months with the same problems as you,The bloating is almost intolerable for me and i Look six months pregnant! I wanted to get it out but keep thinking it may pass? I hope you get some answers=)
Ok 9 months later and i have had abdominal pain and tender breast for a month. Pregnacy test came back negative as i thought i was. Started spotting and now period has started. Be the second week as of today. Gained 10 kgs. Bloated all the time looks like im pregnant. Thinking really hard about maybe removing the jadelle if things are going to be like this! I am 33 years old wit 2 kids 11,13.
Sorry to hear you've been having so many problems! I've had my Jadelle implant in for 8 months - I was irregular beforehand on the mini pill, and have had no periods on the implant yet. For me, that's fantastic. There's no need to worry about taking the pill when you're crossing datelines or traveling off the beaten track.
I haven't had any problems with breakouts, no weight gain, no bloating, no headaches/migraines, no (noticable) mood swings etc. My only concern was that it lowered my sex drive a bit, but nothing to be worried about.
Everyone seems to react differently to the implant - I got mine put in with the idea that if the side effects were too much, it can easily be removed. I'd strongly recommend giving it a go - when it works, it works very well.
I just gained a lot of weght and my body is always itching
I wish I had seen this before I got the Jadelle. I got it last January and for the first 3 months everything was normal, normal bleeding and everything. Then I started getting spotting and it gradually got worse until I was bleeding straight for a month!
1 year after getting it in I decided to get the Jadelle out BUT they could only reach one of the Jadelle implants. The other one is still somewhere in my arm. I have to go into the hospital for scans and to get it removed. Alot of pain and alot of costs and I'm a long way down the waiting list to get the last Jadelle out of my arm.
However my periods went completely back to normal within a day of getting the first one removed. However I'm now suffereing from extremely sore breasts and an extremly sore pelvic region which is apparently caused by the changes in my hormones!
Would not recommend the Jadelle to anyone. Even my friends who consider it I tell them not to go near it!!!
Can I get a drug from phar€macy to stop menstruation caused by implantS
I just had jadelle implant inserted late december now having first period which is up to day nine and seems to be a common side effect. Will this settle down over time or can you take something to help stop this. Previous i only had 3-4day menstrual cycle very frustrating.
I hve had Jadelle for a year now and didnt get a period for six months,Bloating etc now i have a period every few days..its intense and really have no choice bt to keep it at this stage.I dont recommend this contraceptive and who knows what else it does to your body..But not getting pregnant overrides all the bad side effects for me.
Hi there. i am getting my Jadelle removed next week. Have had it for almost two years and in the first few months experienced prolonged and frequent bleeding, large sore hormonal acne bumps on my CHEEKS and chin (have never had acne on my cheeks before) and hair growth around my chin. I expected all these symptoms to subside over time but 2 years along they are still there. The hair and the acne is unacceptable, it is ruining my skin and I am now undertaking a course of electrolysis to remove the hair. Loved the idea of it, but sadly the side effects are too much for me
I got the Jadelle implated 6 months ago and i have had constant problems i have my period for 4 to 6 weeks on and off have had so many days off with nausea, dissyness, my skin has broken out so much since the implant also have had a lot of anxiety atacks and just felt like myself ever since i am now on estrogen tablets and medication to control my skin break outs wtf i am getting it out this friday am so sick of this i would not suggest getting this form of contraception to anyone!!!
It's been good to read other women's experiences with Jadelle, so I thought I should add my own. I've had the implant since July 2011. For the first two months my periods were regular and I was really happy about not needing to worry about taking the pill any more. However, after this, I started having spotting between periods almost like a constant light period. I was really upset about this so I went and saw my doctor and she gave me the pill and said it may help to regulate my cycle. After a few days on the pill the bleeding stopped and when I was finished with the pack I had my period as normal and then a month of no spotting, then another period that lasted a month. It has been completely chaotic to be using the Jadelle implant. I have started to think that it's use is to make you bleed ALL THE TIME so that you are put off of sex. It is now February 2012 and I cannot wait any longer for my period to regulate so I am going to see a doctor today to have it removed. If this means I have to be on the pill, I will be happy and a good pill-taker! I would not recommend the Jadelle implant to anyone, I feel like it has had a very negative impact on my life but I am happy for those of you with good experiences. :)
im going to get my6 implants taken out today i have had the worst side affects. the docta tryd to tell me i was jus low in iron and there was probly something else wrong. i lost 10 kgs in a week constantly dizzy, alwaes feel like im going to chuck had blleding for 8 weeks strsight so they gave me a pill to stop it. the pain in my tummy is un bearable and the headaches wont go away. i lost my self esteem i think the implants r nt worth the hassel at all i onli got thm coz i had blood clots and doc sed they were best option and later after some research i found out they make blood clots worse. so to any one considering thz option of contreception dont do it and do someresearch into better options.
No it is not normal to have ongoing bleeding with any contraceptive. It is unacceptable and your GP should be telling you all the side effects. If you are having these problems its because this type of hormone is not agreeing with you. You should have it removed.
I had the same problem too, after having the jadelle previously i had a very itchy body cant stop scratching my body when its itchy
i have had the jadelle in for about 15 month now and i have had enough i have been on antibotics twice cream for the area in which is now red and blue like a bruse pain in my arm gained weight which my gp said i would;nt so back on the pill i go
Hi am have had jadelle in for 4 months now and have had lighter bleeding but now its very heavy and has been 3 weeks of this now. I have no energy and often have a sore stomach . plz help
the good thing about Jadelle is that most people fall pregnant pretty quickly after it is removed.... unlike the depo provera etc
I cant say anything nice about Jadelle! I had it in and out within 3 weeks - I couldn't move my arm properly without it hurting for almost a week. By the end of 2nd week my arm was swollen, tender 2 touch, couldn't hold my 1year old or any weigh without extreme pain, started to lose feeling in arm from implant to hand, increase in depression and aggresion. To add to this family planning told me it wood take 2 weeks to c me. After visiting A & E, 2 hospitals and 9 hours of waiting. North Shore hospital finally found someone to remove it. Woman should be warned its not worth trying Jadelle as I still have pain and a lump in my arm.
