Isosorbide Mononitrate 10 Mg Terrible Pain In My Jaw Mostly (Top voted first)

I only started taking these under a week ago, the headaches I can deal with, but the pain in my jaw, ear and cheek I cannot, the pain is worse than trigeminal neuralgia i get occasionally
It only does that on the morning tablet and I really dont think I can take anymore of them, this pain is driving me mad to the point of wanting to scream with the pain and discomfort.

You might try taking a reduced dosage and taking it at night. I had similar problems with side effects on the first day that I tried the 30 mg isosorbide mononitrate ER: splitting headache by evening; a terrible soreness in the gums and roots of my teeth; and a overwhelming greenish color in my vision each time I blinked my eyes. I immediately stopped taking them for several weeks. The pills I have (made by Torrent) have a line across the middle, so I tried taking 1/2 pill at bed time. It worked. My comfort level is greatly increased and I don't have the terrible headaches and side effects that I had before. The increased blood flow while I'm sleeping has helped to mostly eliminate the angina I had during the day, especially while straining or exercising.

Please can anyone tell me this is normal? as it lasts about an hour or so, I have even taken paracetamols to try and ease it which I think it is helping.

It was coming on the afternoon tablet aswell and couldnt handle the terrible pain in my jaw so I have stopped it, had a few angina pains because of stopping it quickly but The jaw pain has practically ended now thank god.
I really cant take this medicine I too will stick to the spray

I am very sorry about the pain you experienced and yes, it is a known side effect of this medication.

The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, anorexia, thirst, vision abnormalities and fatigue.

Have you informed your doctor?

Yes I have also tried the slower release but I was getting the face and head pain all the time.
I really cannot take these anymore my head and face is still so after stopping them 2 days ago.
