i take norco 10/325 and wonder is there a stronger hydrocodone pill such as 15/325
I had a L6 S1 Fusion (yes I have six lumbar) over a year ago and have severe nerve damage. My Hydrocodone 10 / 325 dose has been slowly going up to manage the pain. I hate the opiate fuzzy head and what it is doing to my life and restricting my driving. My doctor and I decided to try something else called a spinal cord stimulator. I had to do a trial before I could get the actual stimulator implanted. The trial was great and I didn't need the pain pills. I just had the permanent one installed in my back and it was a surgery I hope it goes as well as the trial and I can get off those stinking pain pills. Some of you may want to look into this medical device. Mine is a Boston Scientific by the way but there are other brands out there.
I've been wondering because several years ago my previous pain Dr, I moved cities, gave me a prescription and it was 15mg but I have no idea what it was but it was one of the best I've ever used to treat pain. He changed my medication several times, brands, so I can't remember which one worked best. He had me on 10/325? Not sure of the Tylenol amount but my new Dr keeps me on 5/325. I would prefer the higher because then I would take less but that's just me but I know I was given a 15mg once before. I've wondered if it was perhaps an oxy? The thing is that oxy do nothing for me but the hydro do. I've recently used kratom but still haven't found the right one and do want to try PEA (not to be confused with the vegetable pea). We'll see what happens. Best to you all.
I feel so bad when reading these comments. I've been on hydrocodone since 2008 and I've never had any issues involving addiction of any sort, thank God. In December of 2014 I had an unfortunate and unsuccessful surgery (Ifuse - pelvis fused and biggest mistake ever) and for six weeks lived with one of the three rods pinching the nerves that exit down my left leg; I had three scripts filled out and even that was not enough. Once I had my revision performed (got rid of the excruciating pain but have now added the foot pain which is worse than the back 24/7 since) went back to my normal dosage which was one 5/325 once a day, sometimes two. I can go days, even two weeks with nothing with no problems. My Dr added phentanyl and I used on and off in no particular order but stopped because all they do is make me sleepy but still no effects either. I only recently, past several months, have increased my dosage to the recommended and I am not consistent at all with no problems at all. The only reason I'm here is because I've noticed since last month I've been experiencing shortness of breath on certain days more than others. I don't know if I simply have a strong personality? I don't know. Even during the years that I suffered from severe depression including three hospitalizations I still have not had problems with my meds, mind you, I did take a huge amount which is what landed me in the hospital but I did them out of anger and frustration. Today I am depression, anxiety, etc free and am looking forward to being pain free as well. Off of my meds except for the pain which I'm looking forward to getting rid of as well, I hate them.
I hope they come out lobtab 15 mg they will give you bigger risk in other words take your meds right
Perkaset didn't agree with my head made me so foggy I couldn't drive. Is there anything else out there?
When I had knee replacement my d had me on 2- 7.5 for a total of 15, every four hours. I am now on 10 and pain doesn't stop ever.
I suffered a contusion fracture in my L1 L4 and L7 vertebrates sixteen years ago. I was put on 80mg oxycottin for about three months then reduced down to Percocet 10/650. My addiction had already taken hold but I was unaware at the time. Before I knew it I was seeing several different doctors and had even began misusing several pills a day. I was even buying extra to keep up with my addiction. It was a horrible time in my life. I have since recovered but I am now 37 years old and have severe pain at times due to my physically demanding job. I have no insurance and need medication and maybe even surgery by now I haven't seen a doctor other than e.r. doctors in several years. Can somebody tell me what I should do? I'm miserable. I don't know what steps to take to get back in a pain management program and do it proper way this time.
How dare you say 'at least they're removed from the gene pool'! That is a horrible way to infer that addictions are a character flaw brought on by bad genes. It happens. People have the right to be out of pain when misfortune strikes. People don't set out to become addicts. Treatment of pain should include acupuncture, tens units, massage, physical therapy and medication. I also think that psychological and emotional therapy should be added to pain management, as the aspects of trauma, and physical changes that occur during one's lifetime is all-encompassing. Currently, I believe any kind of mental health therapy is frowned upon while in a pain management program. If the two were combined, I believe the casualties would be lessened. Shame on you!
For some reason unknown to me different opiates work one way for one person and another way for another. Also, like many drugs, you build up a tolerance to hydrocodone Fairly quickly.
Are you also on a prescription strength Ibuprofen for inflammation? I've found Advil in combo with opiates work well in random. I AM NOT A DOCTOR SO PLEASE CONSULT WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN but this is what works for me
I have to disagree. Percocet has fewer side effects and cuts the acetaminophen which causes the most havoc in your body. Of course ALL OPIATES are addicting and Percocets are opiates. You can also OD on any opiate so take that into account. Percocets are a step up from Norcos so they pack a strong punch.
Interestingly some people end up slobbering on themselves in a stupor with Percs while others deep clean every item in their house!!
I was taking Percocet for 15 yaers and I never got addicted to them and I just stopped I was taking 6 10 milligrams a day
I think hydrocodone works better for pain than oxy because it gives you a warmish confident feeling along with getting rid of pain.
Methadone is strong enough to ease up any pain. I took for many years till I was put on Lyrica and percocet for back pain after 7 surgery's
I was taking lortab and my new doctor switched me over to percocet and it was the worst mistake of my life. I'm switching back over to lortab and hopefully never looking back. Oxycodone absolutely has taken over me, my body, my mind and my soul. When I was taking lortab I was absolutely fine, living normally. Sometimes you got to go with your best decision in your mind not your doctors.
Hydrocodone 10/325 is beginning to not work on my degenative disk disease mostly in the L4 and L5 area. I've tried one prescription of Oxy 10/325 and it didn't seem to work as well as the Norco yet cost 4 times as much. I returned to the Norcobut still have pain most of the time.
Other than injections , I have no idea what to do as I consider surgery out of the question.
You are right pain medication takes over the mind and people think there is no way they can go day to day without taking it. Depression anxiety cold sweat diarrhea. The opiates control the mind using toxins. The brain wants the toxins or body tends to discharge anything that is not opiate during the withdrawal stage. These medicines should be given out with more care then they are. It's impossible to not become dependent on pills after taking them for a period of time.
Zohydro ER (hydrocodone bitartrate extended-release capsule) will come in 15 mg. The FDA approved it at the end of Oct 2013 and it should be on the market in 2014. It is a Schedule II, Not tamper resistant and is to be prescribed for severe pain.
The FDA will ask DHH to make all combination hydrocodone products a Schedule II in Dec 2013, then DHH will ask the DEA. Federal Laws will be changed and it will go in to effect sometimes in 2014.
Look Up Zohydro its an extended release Hydrocodone under severe scrutiny at the moment I couldn't find the dosage anywhere online but should be interesting to search it out.
Not that I'm aware of. The next 'step' is either Oxycodone or Oxycontin, low mg. tablets are available. I've had 3 spinal surgeries over the past 16 yrs., and I've been taking most every pain med. at one time or another; the pain today is much less than even 5 years ago. Good luck; God bless you.....heal your pain.
So glad to hear you took back control of yourself NOT too many people are willing let alone able to before they OD
