Is Metformin A Blood Thinner
UpdatedIs or isn't metformin considered a blood thinner for surgical purposes? I'm having a medical device inserted under my skin in my back to control incontinence.

No, this medication is used to help control blood sugar levels. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, flatulence, and diarrhea.
Is there anything else I can help with?

Metformin is ALWAYS on the list of meds to discontinue before surgery, if you have surgery upcoming.
