is hydroco/apap 5-325 mg stronger than BUTALBITAL, ACETAMINOPHEN, CAFFEINE, AND CODEINE tablets

i have BUTALBITAL, ACETAMINOPHEN, CAFFEINE, AND CODEINE tablets for migraine headaches. I had a very bad fall and hurt my arm,shoulder and knee. they gave me hydroco/apap 5-325 mg for the pain.

Which of the two is stronger for pain relief?

Codeine is actually very weak, so for that type of pain, you'll most likely be better off with the Hydrocodone that they've prescribed, it is much stronger and better able to handle the pain from an injury, such as that which occurred due to your fall.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I took butalbital with codine for years. It worked great for my migraine headaches but I now use Sumatriptan (imitrex) and it works great without taking a narcotic. I highly recommend it.

Yes, the headache medication probably has more acetaminophen in it, sometimes they have 500 mg sometimes it’s 325. But yes hydrocodone is an opioid, the headache medication is a barbiturate, caffeine, and Tylenol. It might help your pain because it’s a muscle relaxer, but the Vicodin is a better choice if you’re actually in pain that is not attention headache or migraine.
