Am I safe taking modafinil with metformin

I didn't find any interactions listed between the two medications, but you should check with your doctor or chemist to be certain.

And if you're diabetic, there may be other complications involved, so you shouldn't take any medication without your doctor's approval.

I would like to thank you for the "Modafanil details" part of your post. I learned a lot from it. I also, once again, saw in writing on information regarding Modafinil, the reason my Doctor prescribes it for me, which is depression. I have been on 1, 2 or even 3 combinations of anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, mood elevators and mood stabilizers over the past 30 years for Major Depression (I am on Disability since 7/85 for a few diagnoses of Mental Illness), and my Psychiatrist tried me on Provigil as a last resort. I hadn't been medicated properly to be able to function much for 6 MONTHS OR LESS, until I started taking the Modafinil. I am still not depression free nor am I independent in every aspect of my life, but I am able to do things like my own laundry, make my own dinner, have an interest in crafts, and other things that people without Clinical Depression (Chemical Imbalance is what I have been told I have in my brain) do without a second thought. I know that my Mental Illnesses are still crippling and prevent me from doing many things, but I at least feel that I am worth SOMETHING, instead of feeling like a useless lump of garbage.
