Lisinopril is used to lower and control high blood pressure. The side effects of high blood pressure medication aren't nearly as threatful as hypertension itself. The most common side effects associated with Lisinopril and most other high blood pressure medications are as follows:

Dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, fever or chills, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, fast or uneven heart beat, palpitations, chest pain, numbness or tingling in your fingers or toesdecreased amount of urine, skin rash, itching, change in taste, cough, swelling of your face / lips / tongue, severe diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, excessive sweating. The loss of body fluid can make it dangerous to take Lisinopril.

Please note that not everyone experiences side effects from taking High BP medication, so it may be of your utmost interest to get a proper diagnostic from your physician.

I had to be rushed to the emergency room after taking lisinopril hctz 20-25 mg. for 10 month. Rapid heartbeat, confusion. sweating, blood showed acute kidney problems.

Hi. My nane is Angel Williams and I am on LisinopriL-HCTZ20/25mg Tablets and I have been coughing really bad I'm coughing to the point were I am vomiting I am scared to lay down. I have told one of my doctors that when I take this medicine it feels like it is not doing any good he then told me to take so now I am talking two each morning I told my heart doctor how it was doing me and I ask me what should I do he told me to continue to take the medicine and I am still coughing really bad. Please tell me what should I do?

Has anyone on here weaned off of Lisinopril? If so, did you have any withdrawl?

I have been taking Lisinopril-HCTZ for around 5 years (20-25mg) once daily. I cough non-stop, sometimes to the point of throwing up. I itch constantly. I was having pain in the kidney and liver areas and had blood work done. It came back as both fully functioning. My eyes also aren't as bright as they were, and they burn, which is why I had my kidneys and liver tested. I also will randomly throw up. I also tingle constantly. I've never experienced symptoms like this before and am very healthy based on blood work and physicals. While I was at the Dr.'s office for blood work he noticed my cough and said that it was the Lisinopril that was causing it, so he recommended a new BP med which made me so dizzy I took it for two days. I went back to Lisinopril because it was the lesser of two evils. I just don't feel right and would like to get off of any BP med and do it the natural way through exercise, potassium & magnesium. Starting tomorrow, I'm planning to take 1/2 of my dose for a week, and 1/4 of my dose for the next week and then hopefully be done and away from Lisinopril. Do you have any recommendations as to how to make this a smooth transition? High BP runs in my family.
