Yes im just wondering if Ibuprofen will do much good for my arthritis in my legs. My knees swell a lot an it hurts bad. My doctor recommended Tylenol 3 with codeen which im highly allergic to. Any suggestions.

There's really no way to know, except by trying it to see if it helps you. However, there is no 500mg Ibuprofen available. Over the counter doses are available in 100mgs or 200mgs, prescription doses are available in 400, 600, and 800mgs.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation.
Are you on any other medications?
