I Took A Suboxone Can Take Methadone

Been on methadone for 8yrs haven't had any for almost 40 hrs got 4mg suboxen strip when can I take it?

You should follow your doctor's dosing instructions. You must be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone, otherwise it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I took a 8 mg suboxone this morning about 10:00 am not due to withdrawal . just for a little energy . but I take 35mg's of liquid methadone on Saturdays . nothing else in between . wondering if I can take the methadone on Saturday or wait . that would be 2 days

This issue is not taking methadone after you take suboxone. The suboxone will just block the methadone so you won't feel high or have withdrawals. The real issue is taking suboxone too soon after taking methadone or any other opiates. If you take suboxone before you are in full blown withdrawal (for heroin it's 24-48hrs after last dose, for methadone it's 48-72hrs or more depending on a Dr recommendation) then you will put yourself into precipitated withdrawals which last for hours and is so intense you may want to kill yourself. Once you take suboxone too soon after taking an opiate, there is NO WAY TO REVERSE IT no matter how many more opiates or subs you take.

NEVER TAKE SUBOXONE BEFORE YOU ARE IN FULL BLOWN WITHDRAWAL. You will suffer horrendously, I promise.
