Sorry to hear about your challenges with anxiety. Do you know whether or not any of your anxiety-based fears stemmed from recent or past childhood experiences? If so, I'm thinking it may be best to see a psychiatrist who can further help you uncover the underlying cause(s) behind these irrational thoughts and behaviors.
From my understanding, overcoming anxiety or panic attacks is really just mind over matter; convincing yourself that nothing really is the way it seems at any given moment and it's all just in how you "choose" to look at it. I think the more often you can even begin to start taking back control over your thoughts and emotions, the easier it'll be for you to take that first confident step out of the house. A psychiatrist can definitely work with you on this, but others might prefer to work on themselves through means of meditation or prayer.
