I Am A Male Age 56 Tears Old

I had a life and death experience while I wreck my motor clcle in the mountains in Va. I was life flighted to a near by hospital which was very serious. I broke a total of14 bones with a collapsed. Bottom line is that my broken back along with 2 of the 6 ribs would not heal right, they call it a disfigured chest cavity. I took pain meds for a tim but wanted to stop so I did, I have gone a tear with out them and the pain has just about has me bed ridden. I can not take the pain any more and have tried every thing that was said that could help but nothing is helping. My question is how do you get pain meds after you have quit and coming to find out what the chief surgeon told about 6 weeks after accident.

Stopping pain medications doesn't mean that no one will ever prescribe them for you, again.

You'll most likely need to see a pain management specialist, though, since new directives from the DEA are causing many general practice doctors to stop prescribing them, or to only prescribe them for those with possibly fatal conditions, such as stage 4 cancer.

I'm sorry, but your sentence about the chief surgeon isn't clear. Can you please post back and clarify?
