Hello, Rocky! How are you?

The markings on prescription pills enable them to be identified, in case of emergency. The markings are logged with the FDA and enable you to identify the active ingredient, the dosage and the manufacturer of the medication.

Imagine paramedics being called, because someone has overdosed and is unconscious, there are various pills scattered around them….in order to provide the proper treatment, they need to be able to discover what the person took. They can use various resources to look them up by the markings on them, to discover what the person took and what treatment they should provide to give them the best chance of saving the person's life.

In this case, the IP was a logo that stood for the name of the original manufacturer, IntraPharm, though they have since been purchased by Amneal Pharmaceuticals. It is just often easier to keep the original markings that are already logged with the FDA.

As to this pill, they list it as containing 800mgs of Ibuprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever, and swelling. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation.

So, it is not an opiate of any kind.

Regarding your post, Hydrocortisone is a steroid class medication and it is not available in tablets coupled with Acetaminophen. I believe the medication you were referring to was Hydrocodone, which is a narcotic analgesic.

If you received these from your pharmacy as Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, they did not provide you with the correct medication.

Is there anything else I can help with?
