Hydroco Apap Tab 10 325 Mg

I have taken Hydroco/Apap for about six years for chronic pain. Sometimes the caplets are white, sometimes yellow. When they are yellow I itch badly after taking them. I don't understand why as I've been told by the Pharmacist that they are the same thing. Can you shed any light on my problem? Could it have anything to do with the color? Thank you.

Yes, it could be due to the dye used for color, or some other inactive ingredient. One company has actually been removing the dye from their products, because of the number of people that suffered bad reactions to it, either by being allergic or just sensitive to it.

You might want to discuss the issue with your doctor and your pharmacist, measures can likely be put in place to make sure that you only receive dye free ones in the future.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
