Hello, I had surgery to get a tumor removed from the abdomen and when I got out of the hospital the doctor prescribed to me hydroco/acetaminop 5 325 mg for pain. At first it was 2 pills every 6 hours and then my second refill he changed the orders to 1 pill every 4 hours. My question is, is there a reason for that?

Yes, there is a reason, because once you've been healing for a bit, your pain shouldn't be as bad, so you shouldn't need as much of the narcotic. Plus it also helps prevent addiction and they'll be easier to stop at a lower dose.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
