I have a friend who has run out of medication and is experiencing withdrawal. He will not have his prescribed medication for 4 or 5 days. I am looking for he remedies, etc. to help him get through his physical symptoms and discomfort he is experiencing.

Hello Care Taker! How are you?

There really isn't much that's going to help. When I went cold turkey off of narcotic pain management, I found that relaxing in a warm bath helped the symptoms more than anything else. If it's okay with his doctor for him to take it, Tylenol or Advil may help a little with the rebound pain and Benadryl or Bonine for the nausea. Side effects may include dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and stomach irritation.

How did he end up running out?
