Hello, Ghost! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain.

It would be best to be honest with your doctor about your pain levels, so they know the medication isn't alleviating it, but avoid asking for any particular medication as an alternative. That's what many people do that raises red flags with most doctors. Since they are the ones that have gone to medical school, they usually expect to be the one to suggest the treatment options.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone else have any ideas or advice to offer?
